I cannot understand why clubs don't coach and develop players ability with long throws, they can be as dangerous as a free kick in the right areas. They can be if used moderatley otherwise clubs soon catch on to it an stop it being effective.

I cannot believe that we have all just suffered the hoofball all season and are now advocating the hurl ball to go with it. Come on guys get real we need to play proper football

People seem to forget that even under Jay the plan was mostly just hoof it to Welford, May, Pigott, Delano, DD etc

2003 we blew the league at Ramsgate, when it seemed like all we did was give it to Lacy and hurl it into the box. 2007 Lacy's throw-ins helped win us the league at Walton. Doesn't work all of the time, but this year in particular I wish we'd had the option. I think the problem with both Flisher and Lacy was that we overused it. Once or twice in a game is fine but if you hurl it into the same area every time the opposition is prepared for it. We weren’t against Solihull

Several teams in NL this year have had long throws and whether you play football or hoof ball they are useful - especially Flish’s version - and we need every tool in our kitbag we can get hold of not drop out of NLS next year - Yes I know I know you could say we have too many tools in this squad already but you all know what I mean.

Come on guys get real we need to play proper football Thats the big problem Sword, I dont think the current bunch we have are capable of playing proper football. Please note I called them a bunch rather than players.

At the NYE open training session (under TrisnSi) several of the players were practising their long throws - I cannot recall who was best (might have been Michael Philips?) but even he was pretty useless and barely cleared the edge of the penalty area. They'd obviously thought of it, but maybe it's just not that easy?
And back to the point of whether it's useful - I've been watching since the first NLS season (see what I did there?) and I think I can only recall us scoring once from a Flish long throw. Maybe it's because I didn't get to see much of Flish at his very best, or maybe it is most effective in the lower leagues?
That said I can't recall us scoring too many from corners either (barring WDH)
