We have a team of players that have featured at some point in successful teams. Take Wishart and Powell. Both were playing for pretty good National league teams, but were allowed to leave those teams and therefor expendable. It often happens that players appear better than they are because of the players playing around them! I remember when Dennis wise went to Leicester from Chelsea to replace Niel Lennon. He was utterly useless when playing with lesser players. Our issue has always been and continues to the midfield. Paxman was Saunder’s player, but never kept in the team from week to week, Muldoon only just managed to get a contract in pre season, Powell known for being all or nothing when at Fleet. Walton I’m sure would have been perfect 5 years ago, but he has passed it as a player 100% for me. The only players we currently have that we took from a clubs that didn’t want them to leave is Embury and Robinson. We are a team of “average” or “have beens” or an experiment for Bigger clubs youngsters. Add into that the amount of managers and sheer turn over of players plus the feeling around the club and you see why we will finish dead last!! We change this by clearing out the squad in the summer and starting a fresh.

Agreed, but what is so difficult to fathom is why there is so little effort from so many. Do they really want that on their CVs - or do they just assume they are plenty of clubs falling over themselves to sign our cast offs at the end of the season?

You are assuming these players have the mental capacity to think past the moment!! They can also call on things like Powell’s free kick in the FA cup and Paxman’s goal against Gillingham. Any agent can make these players look good to a new club! They can just blame the other 10 players or the vast amount of managers getting things wrong! Consistancy is the problem. You think how basic Rogers game was in midfield, but we knew what we got every game from him. He wasn’t quite good enough for this league, but he would go into my team now if he were here. The issue of the 3G pitch affects the game we play. Slide tackling on our surface is horrendous when it is wet let alone dry! I missed work for two days with burns on both knees having slide tackled in a game on it! Maybe that is why we do better away from home. Without a robust midfield that can win the ball using body strength and balance the other team can just walk past our midfield. You count the amount of slide tackles in a game at JWW and it isn’t many. Mills use to do it and he always had burns on his legs.

Good question. I assume Cassidy was unavailable for some reason (hiding behind the settee until it all stops?), but Lewington was on the bench! Why? Within minutes of Henry getting injured the other day, it was obvious that Lewington was the better keeper. I assumed that was the last we'd seen of Henry. One or two strange decisions (especially under these circumstances) isn't going to make me distrust JS, but it does seem very odd. Was it his decision or HH's? Under his loan agreement there may be a minimum amount of games he must play. Are you serious? My my we are absolutely crap at negotiating good loan deals aren’t we! Lewington all the way to be No1 PLEASE

I blame the owners ,3G pitches are shit only good for training on when the weather is bad ,how many home games have we won since coming into the NL ,changing manages after 10 games a joke ,and now we have there mate John still the old man of long ball football ,on our attendances we should be higher up the league ,the owners would rather go down then take a gamble and through money at it to get promoted .You get what you deserve

We have a budget better than 8 other sides in this league. If we had a grass pitch I reckon we would have only one team below us financially. I’m not going to blame the owners for making us sustainable with the 3G, but what we need is a team that uses the pitch as an advantage. We either buy a team of giants or we have a team like Macclesfield last season who passed on the floor, then passed on the floor then passed some more! That team was run on the cheap and look at Sutton who have been up there since we were promoted together also with 3G. We now need to stick with HH & JS who know enough about football to realise how useless this squad are! They have no attachment to 95% of them so hopefully saying goodbye will be easy.

I hanker for the days down at Ashford/Sittingbourne playing in front of 72 people. Actually no you are wrong completely Without Terry and Oliver to blame we wouldn't have a football club. The Artificial pitch is not my ideal situation but without the income they wouldn't have built the ground

I look forward to seeing your alternative business plan.

We are by no means the only team in the NL who play on an artificial pitch. Just the worst. The pitch cannot be the reason when Sutton, Bromley and others do ok on one.

This post is just not acceptable as it’s too full of common sense and stating the bleeding obvious. Our demise is as much down to 3G pitch or our owners as it is due to climate change. We were fatally ripped apart by a total incompetent in the first three months and now need ongoing term surgery to recover.

As has been said other teams do not have a problem on the surface. Wake up and smell the coffee!

Blame the owners for everything, most obviously because there would not be any Gallagher Stadium or Maidstone United without them.
Blame them for every disappointment, blame them for every defeat, blame them for refusing to bankrupt themselves or the club, blame them for not getting the Stones into the football league.
Blame Terry and Oliver for the sheer purgatory of this miserable fans forum for without them we as supporters would not exist and have nothing to moan about.

One of the most remarkable things about this season is that despite being woeful for most of it and absolute shite in the past month we are still not bottom of the league. Yet.
The game against Braintree will be The Wooden Spoon derby.
If our players cannot get up for a season-defining match like that God help us all.
COYS!!!
