What is bottom? Relegation as the bottom team? Highly likely. Getting beaten by a double figure score? Very possible unless JS and HH start dumping our overpaid passionless mercenaries and play academy kids who care and know what football is. Relegation is certain so when are we going to start rebuilding with a team of Jake Emburys?

Rebuilding is for the summer. The question now is how JS is going to prevent any more of this shit.
We know we're going down, we're even looking forward to the NS (well, some of us are...), but absolutely no one wants any more games like the last two.
What next - beaten by Aldershot and Braintree? Humiliated by Gills and Fleet?
I've never advocated boycotting games, but if the players aren't prepared to play, perhaps we shouldn't be bothered to watch? I went through the Fry season, and I've seen relegation with West Ham, but this season is plumbing new depths of depression and embarrassment.

I will go purely and simply because I have already paid for it,after all I wouldn't buy a pint and then walk off without drinking it. One point that may cheer you up and look at things being not to bad ,my Northern team Whitley Bay sacked their third manager of the season after being tonked 9-0 by the mighty Hebburn FC last week. Oh glory be our love of football.

I went to the Solihull game and I'll be honest i didn't expect us to get anything out of the game result wise, what i did expect to see was us battling, players giving their all for the cause.
We were on the tele and you'd have thought the players would be putting themselves in the shop window to impress potential new teams as none of them will be back next season and in all honesty i can't see any of them getting signed by another team in the national league or league football.
If some of these players have desires to play at a higher level then they need to seriously wake the f**k up.
We've got players on loan from premier/championship clubs, these guys have got no f**king hope of getting anywhere their parent clubs first team based on their performances for us.
We were spineless, no movement players walking around without a care in the world, show some passion, show some pride, show some fight we were lucky Solihull declered at five as that could've been a lot worse for us.

Apart from Turgott who is still getting match fit none of our players are worth a wank,Embery to early to tell. I noticed at least 3 times that Turgot ran back almost the full length of the pitch to do Wishart job for him. Walton has become a nightmare player and apart from the free kick that Muldoon sent over the stand I didn't realise he was on the pitch. So yes you are right I cannot see any good club wetting their knickers in anticipation with any of our squad.

I'll be there and stay to the end every game because it's what most of us do. But the thing missing now is hope. Hope that if you go a goal behind you might get one back. Or hope that you might even get a goal and hold onto that lead. It's going to be a very strange few weeks.

Much as I support the idea of leaving out most of the 'first team', am wondering if there might actually be rules to prevent such a thing? Suppose we did put out our academy team and got spanked every game till the end of the season. Other teams, that we have already played, could cry foul because we give those teams we still have to play an unfair advantage. Happens in cup games of course, but arguably a problem in the league? We know by now of course that anything would be better than playing our first eleven, because so many of them can't be arsed, but deliberately playing an obviously weakened team could have consequences, up to and including being sent straight to the Ryman. Are there any rules or precedents folk know about?

Are there any rules or precedents folk know about? I was wondering the same thing. But, presumably you are free to play any 11 registered players - I can't see how the NL can criticise a club for that. But maybe they would uphold a complaint from another club if it looked like we were deliberately trying to lose games to affect promotion/relegation? That would be a bugger to prove though - especially as we have a history of being tonked even when we DO play our full first team! We've got to do something though - we can't just serve up the same shit as the last two games for the rest of the season. Surely no one, ST or not, is going to watch that? I really don't understand what's going on. We've got one of the best non-league managers, decent support, a nice ground and set-up, and players who CAN play well. Braintree have known they are going back down practically since the first game, and yet they still play to win - and sometimes DO win. NFU,with all their problems, knew they were in a death spiral, but carried on playing to win (and beat us!). Why is it so different with us?

On the reverse side if we played the academy side and started winning every game would the same teams complain that we should have put out our 1st team so that they could beat them .

Not sure there are rules as Tranmere played their youth team against us a couple of years back in the league. They still beat us 1-0 at the Fortress Gallagher.
Also our Academy teams are probably harder to beat than our current first team...

One issue playing players we want next season or even academy Players is surely destroying their confidence in themselves and the managers and fans confidence in them! They will still be surrounded by players currently starting and losing games as we don’t have enough “future” players ready to play. It would be like tarnishing them with this season’s rust!
I can just see it now, the first game at home next season in the NLS standing in the Genco stand with the sun on my face and a beer in my hand with a new squad built by JS all in a new home kit ready to win some games. This season will be a distant memory.

This is the ideal time to properly assess what we have and what we haven't used at the club. Academy players / systems, whatever we want. It's proper competitive matches unlike friendlies and gives John Still an early start for next season. Experiment away as far as I'm concerned now. What will be will be. Give ourselves the best possible headstart for next season for retention and recruitment

Give ourselves the best possible headstart for next season for retention and recruitment The problem with this though is that the management will have to admit defeat in the attempt to keep us up and they cannot be seen to do that because the owners won't like it. The fact that the owners know we are going down doesn't matter the management cannot say they have given up until it is mathematically impossible.
