Make it Apple sour shots and I'm in! People need to take a reality check. It might get boring but it's also true. We had hardly any moaning in the old days because people's expectations of the club weren't high. It was lovely. I wouldn't feel the need to mention the past if ppl didn't come out with crap saying the owners should be thanking us for continuing to support the club through this hard time. It's ridiculous.

We had hardly any moaning in the old days because people's expectations of the club weren't high. It was lovely. My only gripe about the owners is some of the statements they have come out with about getting us into the league, that we should be in the play off this season, sacking Jay to give us hope etc. etc. don't always ring true, I'm a realist and I understand this league is awash with moneybag clubs and fully understand that we have absolutely no chance of getting into the play off never mind the football league anytime soon, however some supporters believe every word that the owners say, I believe we need to be realistic and take some of those comments with a pinch of salt, like we will run away with the National South next year IF (more likely when) we are relegated with our budget perceived to be 3 x times anybody else in the league. I will forever be thankful for the owners bringing us back home and building us a fantastic stadium, however you are allowed to be disappointed with how this season has panned out, people also say the owners know they have made mistakes but I haven't seen or heard this anywhere, maybe a little bit of humility will go a long way to admit they got it wrong sacking Jay to give us hope and bringing the clown in, they have done the right thing now bringing John Still in, I will be at Solihull on Saturday

I think we can all agree that bringing the clown in was a mistake. But demanding that the owners 'admit' to making a mistake with the dismissal of Jay Saunders in an act of humility as though it may bring some sort of reconciliation with supporters ? What is that all about and how is that going to help the club right now ? Tbh none of us can be sure that we would be any better off today if Jay was running the show, but surely it doesn't help anybody to keep referring to happier days in the past. Neither does it help the club for posts on this forum or facebook to argue the case for new owners (pathetically imo). Not exactly as straightforward as picking apples off a tree and in any case Terry and Oliver deserve much more respect. Mistakes have happened, people will learn from them and we as supporters will carry in behaving as supporters do, for better or for worse.

An apology from JS would not go amiss after last night. And some honesty. Nothing to lose. If the players don't like it and want to leave, that's good isn't it? Funny because I just posted on another thread that during this diabolical season it would not hurt the owners to come forward an say sorry to the fans who have paid hard earned money to support the team this season, maybe they could give us free admission for the last home game as way of an apology. So people who pay each week get to see the game for free but season ticket holders have to pay??? I keep hearing about getting new owners but the problem is for Oliver and terry to go means that someone with a lot more money to come along and buy the team and no one in their right mind wants to buy a non league team. Huge money foreign investors only want to buy premiership or championship teams where they get millions of income from the TV money, the only teams in non league who will get the type of funds needed to move further up are ones with a local wealthy backer who can write off thousands/millions of pounds, these type of people don't grow on trees. A few years ago fc united had loads of money being thrown around but that's died down, curzon Ashton used to be throwing money around but that's taken a backward step, hell even tamplin at Billericay isn't chucking the big money around that he was a few years back, we all know that teams living beyond their means don't survive for long as the finances dry up. We had some fans calling for jay to go, and they got their wish, now we have fans calling for the owners to go. I think we need to be very careful what we start wishing for as this season has been a mess from start to finish and if we continue to make daft demands like sack the board then we could end up with a few completely shit seasons like north ferriby have had. If the people calling for the new owners to go have proof of a new owner ready to step in with much deeper pockets who is willing to write of large amounts of money then I'm all ears, if not then the posts calling for the owners to move on are just premier league supporter dumbfuckery.

I didn’t say the owners should apologise - I am sure they did that when sacking the clown- it’s JS we need to hear from to help us keep faith in his grand master plan by explaining why the team he currently is running seems so incapable of playing football! I did not mean to start a thread of whinges against our owners - although they are not perfect look around at other clubs and you’ll see we could have much much worse! It’s the team management we need honesty from after that debacle on Tuesday.

The absence of any kind of apology from Terry,Oliver or even Bill must mean they are happy with Tuesday's performance and the way things are going in general. They do not care what we think or what we want all they want is our money to try and patch up the enormous hole in the Maidstone United bubble that has finally burst. I would like to be at Solihull on Saturday but finances dictate that it would be a stupid decision when I can watch it live in my front room with a few bottles of Adnams Broadside 6.7% to ease the pain as the Moors bury us alive.

I was not in the camp who were calling for his head, i have a lot of time for Jay and believe that he may well come back to Maidstone further down the road a more experienced manager and ready to take us further, however at the time it had got to the stage where we were not going to progress with him at the helm at this time. As i person i still hold a lot of respect for the way jay conducted himself and the way he engaged with the fans and as i say i think his time away his time ar Margate will help him develope as a manager, sometimes a change does everyone one good and i think it will benefit jay long term and as i say i still see him being the person in charge at some stage in the future taking us further than he did before. The mistake that the owners made was bringing in wheeler as he did not meet the requirements which our owners had clearly stated is what they wanted in the new manager and i think that they have admitted this.

I think it was more down to the timing of his sacking that caused the issue, if there were cracks in the relationship then they should have let him go in the summer, that way giving the new manager time to bring his own players in and set them up for the new season, however hindsight is a wonderful thing

Not forgetting that Jay was just a moment away from leaving the club pre season which would have thrown the whole planning and preparedness stuff down the plughole. Strange how this thread is jumping from the past to the present and back again like a groundhog.

Just got a flashback to Sam Bunn (at Harrow Borough I think) singing "we're an average non-league team, with a ground we've never seen"... but yes we were just glad to be in the dizzy heights of the Ryman Premier.

Absolute hogwash. It's football, shit happens and the owners have no reason whatsoever to apologise for it. You've supported the club long enough to know how shit it can be at times, so why is now any different to all the times in the past. Except of course that this time around we have a stable club that isn't going to go tits up just because the owners made a mistake.

Because Dave back then I wasn't a disabled man who suffers deep depressions as I do now. Back then I was loaded with money but not now. I happily paid my £270 for a season ticket as watching the Stones is one of of the small reasons I find to get out of bed each day and face the world when most of the time I just contemplate suicide. I rely on MUFC to give me hope and on Tuesday they gave me no hope eith an abject, abysmal,PATHETIC and pitiful performance that almost sent me home in tears. For this performance only I feel the owners should make done apologetic statement. It may be HOGWASH for you Dave but it obviously means more to me than it does to you .
