I watched a football documentary last night an it featured Nottingham Forests Euro victories an featured Old Big Head himself an his best quote of the night was. To become a good team you must sign good players. Well maybe JS an Co need to watch the program on catch up TV they might learn a few tricks.

A truly wonderful folk hero, but his greatest days were with Peter Taylor (not the D&R one) at his side. As a team, they were unstoppable. We have to hope that JS and HH can be the team for us.

Jesus Christ, were some of you watching the same game as me? Played some lovely stuff at times, midfield dominated an admittedly poor Halifax and we were the better side for 80 minutes. But!!! you have to take your chances and our shot count must've been in double figures even before half time. If we'd taken even a quarter of our chances then the odd mistake wouldn't matter, but they had about three chances and took one while we had about fifteen and only worked the keeper once. Thats exactly what people are saying Daveu, we huff an puff but we still end up with sod all. No goals = No points.. Play as good as you like for 80 mins but unless we score more than the opposition we will end up losers. And I cannot see us scoring we were poor an lacked any signs of quality or anyone that could split the Halifax defence open. Got to agree with DAVEU For 80 mins Halifax were struggling to compete with the Stones with our midfield in control and working very hard. Davies being very instrumental and sounding very vocal organising. The new winger Amaluzor showed good pace but kept running into alleys and not the best at holding onto the ball or getting a good final ball. Cassidy not really holding up the ball which I'm sure is one of his stronger traits and when winning his headers he was flicking onto nobody. I agree that not much football was played on the floor and a lot of long balls played but that may be down to management knowing that there aren't enough good players to play that way and have instructed them to hit long?? Lewington going into goal is definitely a plus and should play every week. For me overall the problem was the team ran out of steam on 80 mins and the change of defender at halftime effected the defence. A better performance in the final third required. This fixture it's not defence, not midfield but forwards who get the blame.

Two very poor sides last night and yes we were the better side for 80 minutes but we got what we deserved in the end.....NOTHING.

I think Dave was watching a video of an old game against Halifax in which we still lost. The only bit of quality all night was when i was watching one of Halifax warm up drills pre game. There was a spell in the first five minutes where we put four/five passes together and i thought hello we might have a decent game to watch but that was just a false dawn of what was to follow. And I think us fans have had more than our share of broken promises an false hopes for this season. Week after week we get the usual comments about how we tried to win etc etc an thanking those of us that travel up an down the country, but we have to have hope an a belief, and sadly the only hope this team gives us is NO HOPE. Things are truly bad when you are no longer given Bob Hope to go with No Hope.

Maybe "good" would be more appropriate: Romain, Cassidy, Robinson, Powell, Davies, WdH, Wishart, Paxman and Turgott. Phillips when he gets going. Now from this list of "good players" you have compiled how many of them can you see staying to fight our way out of the NLS? I know it might sound unlikely, but we are not down yet. The management team have to look at the last part of this season and the players have to try to avoid the drop as much for them as for us. The results have been hugely disappointing since JS and HH joined us, but they need to keep trying. They have brought in six players so far, all of them have potential, so they must be trying to remain in this league. The negativity is really very strong on this forum at the moment. I know the results have been mainly grim, with the odd positives (Fylde, Borehamwood, Hartlepool, Barnet for example) but it seems to me that many other teams have improved radically since last season and we haven't really moved on. I mean, what would that team of Jay's, which started the season, hoped to have achieved? Possibly we went up too quickly and went full time too soon. If we hover up and down between the NLS and NL for a while then, in a longer time scale context, we've done ok. Who would have thought the club would be playing Orient, Hartlepool, Wrexham, Chester, York, Macc, etc. etc. six years ago?

Mr Wolvestone sir with all due respect if you think we can still escape relegation then you are more mental than my Parrott and even he has given up hope.

If we are to escape relegation, JS, HH and SW don't just need to walk on water, they'll need to turn into wine and raise the dead too. Highlight make it look a reasonable game. It certainly wasn't. However, certainly shows Halifax has many more clear chances than us and could easily have won by three or four. They were a poor side, yet still had that bit of quality when it mattered, which only shows just how poor we are and escaping relegation just ain't going to happen.

I am attending all the remaining home matches with the full confidence that we will avoid relegation and mount an astonishing comeback. All those matches, that is, at which it is mathematically possible to avoid relegation. The remaining matches I will watch regarding them as training sessions for next year's squad who will win every match in the NLS, thus promoting us by January 2020. This time next year we will be preparing for life in the NL. Exciting, isn't it???
