first visit: FL4 27/1/90 Stockport Co 1-2 Maidstone Utd attn: 4,161Steve Butler scored both of our goals [as we stayed in 5th] Ian McInerney for Stockport [who dropped from 3rd to 4th] Like us, Stockport lost in the play-off semi-finals; however, they were promoted the following season including: 1/10/90 Stockport Co 1-0 Maidstone Utd attn: 3,207 If memory serves me correct weren't we 1-0 down in the last minute yet scored two in injury time to win ? I don't think it was the last minute, but they were both quite late. Seem to remember it was wet, the terrace was uncovered and the coppers were bastards, as they frequently were at the time.

Chris on SL said (twice) today that "most goals are scored in the last five minutes"
Anyone know if this is true? And what exactly does "last five minutes" mean - including added time, or just between 85 and 90 mins?

Just back from Edgeley Park. Great battling performance today, we deserved a replay. Stockport have some good players going forward, Warburton the goal scorer ( ex Curzon Albion & Salford ) is in fine form and took his goal well, and the full backs attack well and at pace. Not so sure I'd fancy their central defence against a pacey national league attack - a bit leaden footed. Stones were uber professional, slowing the game down & taking the heat out of things where ever possible. Had some chances to win it - Michael Phillips had too long perhaps to think about things for a one on one. After WDH went off Walton, Swaine & Davies defended well, a bit under pressure at times, but mainly huffing & puffing from the home side.
Great Stadium, Edgeley Park, good viewing, friendly & helpful staff & stewards - a good away experience.

Just got home from a very nice day in Stockport, the team played really well and I thought Walton and Swaine were immense in the heart of defence, Cassidy took his goal really well and the goal we conceded no keeper was going to save that, we conceded due to Paxman not being strong enough and he was run ragged by their number 2, Michael Phillips will not get an easier chance than he had today one on one with the keeper, unfortunately he hit the ball straight at him, I thought the referee started the game well but he let the game run away from him in the 2nd half and no matter how they challenged us we couldn’t get a decision, my only grumble would be the 2nd half we kept playing far too deep, however we go again on Tuesday night

(more or less) Hopefully, less travelling & more goals ! I'd love a fit Blair to be available to run @ Stockport's defence - show those guys what they might get in the NL. Not to be, sadly.

I fear by the time a fit Blair is available to run at any defences it will be long past any chance of him making a difference to this season. Except, of course, he won't cup tied when we turn out at Wembley...
