I see Hakan reckons 9 more wins will keep us up. That's a total of 56 points. Could argue that a lower total would suffice but there again we would just be doing the equivalent of moving the seats on a trans-Atlantic liner in 1912. Where on earth did you hear HH say, that given that we only have nine league games left? So is he going to admit we are down after we have lost or at best drawn at Wrexham? KM/ kentonline
"Head coach Hakan Hayrettin reckons Maidstone need to win their remaining nine games to have a chance of staying up.
The Stones are 11 points from safety with nine games left after losing at Eastleigh on Tuesday night and this Saturday make the trip to faltering title contenders Wrexham.
Asked how many games Maidstone need to win, Hayrettin said: "We need to win them all.""

Got it - it was more of an ironic statement of fact from HH than an actual belief - that makes more sense! He hasn't lost the plot!
BTW - Please everyone stop the HH out rubbish. His post match interviews haven't been great, for sure, and outside of his time with JS I don't think his record as a standalone Manager inspires great confidence, but the clue in his worth is that a) He has stepped down from being the main man to be head coach and b) hes chosen to do that with JS, with whom he was VERY successful, so lets hold tight and trust in the Management team to rebuild us into a decent NLS team next year.
In JS and HH we trust!

Apart from a couple of dodgy post match interviews I just do not understand this mumbling of dis-satisfaction of HH these two guys were brought in to do a job maybe not for this season but certainly for next season, blimey fans been moaning all year about the revolving door that the players enter into, now they want another manager out before the seasons over.

Just been talking to a bloke in the pub and the subject of Maidstone United came up and I explained our situation and he began to laugh . I asked him what was funny and he said " You idiots even I know you can't turn pig shit into truffles". He's right you know.

Not sure how this rebooted thread got an "anti Hakan" opposition slant.
My comment on his interview was about it being irrelevant whether we think we need 9 wins or whether 7 or 8 will do because they aren't going to happen this season. It wasn't intended, in any way, as a comment about Hakan.
Having said that, his post match interviews do need some work.

I've never really seen the point of post-match interviews - managers or players. Neither are usually particularly articulate for a start, and nor are they likely to be honest (keeping their jobs being more important to them than clinically accurate post-game analysis). But mainly, they are pointless because there isn't much you can say - you’re basically doomed to repeat the same stock phrases endlessly. We won - the lads done well - we were lucky with that pen/free-kick/off-side, but these things balance out over a season We lost - it wasn't a pen/free-kick/off-side - we're carrying a lot of injuries - some players didn't put in a shift, they know who they are - it was 'one of those' We drew – the lads done well to come back from behind – we’ve got to stop conceding goals in the 92nd minute – if you don’t get at least two ahead, you’re always in danger of them equalising – on another day, we would have won that – it was ‘one of those’ and so on…

The problem is some people just wont give any new manager a chance. Christ before Wheeler had even managed one game for us people were on his back, same with Still and HH now, they been here less than 2 months and people are moaning that we made the wrong appointment. Some people are stuck in this stigma that only Jay can manage this club, no one else. Its almost an impossible job for a new manager because certain people compare whatever they do to Jay and if they don't get instant results they start harping on about getting Jay back. Jay has come out saying he won't return and has moved on himself, so why can't we all do the same? This club can't progress or move on when we are constantly going on about the past.

Okay, going down is the last thing anyone wants, but providing they don't come up, or go bust, we will have welling and Dartford next season in the vanarama South, the mangles may come out of the isthmian, and Dover may come down with us, so some nice little derbies there I wouldn't worry to much about the Mangles as they were run ragged by Merstham today and do not look like promtion candidates. They lost 1-0 but could and should have been a few more. It seems they are very likely to be in the bostik play offs now....

I think it is more that the social media / forum era of football fandom means that you comment and post every week and rather than form a cogent intelligent opinion based on the job a manager does over a period of time, you judge each and every week. Realistically you should give the management team a little grace

Absolutely !
I guess I am finding HH a little amber tinted in respect of his views about Stones performances.
He really shouldn't have been quite so gracious about a defensive effort that leaked 4 goals on Saturday nor about forwards that couldn't hit a proverbial barn door.
But not his fault that individuals fail in critical areas of play

There is no value in saying it exactly how it is each and every week.
