Having just watched Mr Still’s interview a few things stood out for me! He blamed the midfield and probably correct to do this, however he banged on about the defence and how good they were! It does not surprise me that he has signed over half of that defence in the last few weeks. He also removed all blame from the strikers, one of which he resigned recently. If money is tight still then we clearly need to move players on to give us the budget. Of our current central midfielders I would keep only Phillips and Walton. The rest have had enough chances. Clearing out players is the easy bit, finding the correct replacements is as John says not easy! Let’s be honest the likes of Powell and Muldoon will be gone next season anyway so why not get rid now!

"Clearing out players is the easy bit" you are not wrong just play them somewhere near the keeper and he will get rid of them for you .

A totally random thought / comment, just how impressive was the big # 15 ( Okoye ) playing at the back for Bromley ? Previously with Merstham & Braintree, quite some player to build your defence around. Good bit of scouting by The Ravens to pick him up.

oldboi and jakeyboi both having doubts and questioning whether they will bother to turn up and support the team on Tuesday. they won't be alone in thinking like that and it will be a shame to lose their support but life goes on for me I don't have that choice and just have to carry on supporting the team however well or badly we play. You are at it again Doris A.K.A. Nick. Where did we both say we will stop supporting the team even if we dont turn up on Tuesday. If by not showing up you fail to support the club then you are only a supporter for home matches and a small amount of away games. I said after Saturdays performance I might not turn up I did not say I would stop supporting them. Now read these posts again an be a man and admit your wrong AGAIN.

Let’s face it, he is too good for our current team, as funny as that sounds. He needs a good DCM to allow him to play though. We have Pax, Muldoon and Powell and none can play together as they don’t get enough of the ball. Jay used to play Reason, Lewis and Presedge to try and gain control of games. We need to find a way to do this with 2 central midfielders.

JS has said that he has a few under consideration as a loan replacement for Simon Walton, although finances could be a barrier to getting the right player. Lets see if something happens soon. In the meantime, the tactical setup for the Halifax game is going to be interesting to say the least.

Who would I play in midfield? Anyone but Tajbaskhs who I would send back to the 'Dog and Duck ' where we obviously got him from. As we were so bad Saturday then at the risk of sounding like a broken record please give Jack Richards a game can he really do any worse than that shower if shit at the weekend?

The problem is, we need someone to do the job that Tajbaskhs can supposedly do. it's just not him.

Sorry if I missed this but Paxman not in the 16 at all? Wasn't he the "hypothetical player" Still might have been referring to in his interview about a midfielder whose strength is passing and not tackling but not doing a good job at his specialism?
Or, do we believe Still really was just making a general point?

I think that was Muldoon and Powell I saw it as a clear dig at all of them. We have to many midfielders who specialise in one thing, but they aren't even actually that good at the one thing.

I think the reason that muldoon, Paxman And a few others have stayed in the squad is because they all have their moments! Muldoon with the odd sublime cross field pass, Paxman with the odd ball on the floor that cuts the defence in half and Mr AT who has come on before and done a good job!! Problem is they are all flash in the pan players. Walton is unremarkable, but consistent in what he gives. When Lewis and Reason left I was not bothered, but both are doing a job at Dover! Let’s hope Fleet forget to pay their team on time again and maybe we can tempt a midfielder from them! There is a gem out there somewhere an we have got a manager who has been around the block many times so fingers crossed he can do it 🙏🏻
