Just confirms my thoughts that 3G will never be accepted in professional football ie EFL2 and above and it's time for Oliver to accept that . Should Maidstone ever want promotion to the EFL then the pitch will have to go but would the owners be willing to sacrifice the revenue it brings? Probably not is the answer not that promotion to EFL is going to worry us for a while.

Bit of a leap to say 3G will never be accepted because one, (shit) footballer in Scotland doesn't like getting beaten on them.

Not really if you look at the fact that manyfootball associations across the globe are beginning the process of outlawing the surfaces from their competitions on health and safety grounds you can see why they will never be accepted plus the Lord God almighty Martin Tyler doesnt like them so that is that they wont ant to antagonize God.

Haven't heard of anyone banning them since the pellet-scare story a couple of years ago. Which is not saying it couldn't happen of course, as if they can relegate teams for having small dressing rooms they can do anything.

I read it somewhere in one of the quality newspapers,so not the Mail, that some of the Eastern European countries were considering banning them as well as Central American countries. I only read it just before Christmas so maybe it isn't happening just yet.

I think there are many more clubs this will affect before us so it’s not really our battle to fight, but i imagine Oliver Ash has already spat his coffee out this morning over his anti brexit tweets.
I think there’s more chance of Shurgar running in the grand national this year than us needing to summon a board meeting to discuss wether we need to get rid of the pitch for league 2.

Not sure why you're so concerned about Oliver's tweets about Brexit. Surely he's allowed a life outside Maidstone United and on his personal twitter account he can tweet what he likes.

I believe they're never going to vote for 3G in the EFL. We're not going to be able to "bully" the Football League into accepting them with legal threats. Doesn't mean we have to rip up the pitch any time soon, but if our long term plan is Football League, sooner or later the current business model is going to have to be altered. I guess TV money would compensate for loss of rental income.

I think the rental income argument will become less and less important. Many places now, such as schools, are investing in 3G and hiring out their pitches to raise funds so competition will increase. What is interesting is why Stones seem unable to play well on our 3G when opposing teams seem to love it!

Yes, I think our 3G business model is starting to turn sour in the face of competition and EFL digging their heels in and I predict we will have grass back at the Gallagher as soon as we are able to re-lay the 3G pitch at another venue...........both of which need huge wads of cash which wont be arriving soon.

There's an overgrown football pitch on the other side of the river and railway.

There's an overgrown football pitch on the other side of the river and railway. It’s tiny, but so is our pitch, could we not pull it up and relay it up there, rent it out as we do the Gallagher and move training and the Academy there! Leaving us to lay grass and as if by magic win some home games! It totally fool proof and will defo work! Who actually owns that pitch??

A bunch of religious loonies who threw us off of it hence the move to Sittingbourne years ago that's if we are talking about the same pitch.
