Of course it depends on whether you believe it. I do and hope I am not being naive. If you get a good manager then you can survive in this league on a lesser budget. We proved that twice!! Yes and I would be happy with that but how many of our supporters will turn away from a club with no ambition? It’s not a case of having no ambition though is it? It’s more a case of not having the finances. Supporters need to be more realistic. As Nick says it’s not easy to find someone who is happy to write off a large sum of cash!!

Always though league football was a long way off, bit did think we could consolidate in the NLP. However, even in the last two years, the dynamics of this league have changed and only those with lots of money can survive long term now. I had a look at some of the stats over time when we were under threat this time last year. It turns out that by and large clubs do NOT consolidate in this league. Wrexham are the longest standing members and they came in the other end.
In the last decade or so most of the clubs going up to EFL are ex league and most of the promotees from NLS/NLN go back down again after a short stay - the THIRD season being the worst for this (chose not to share that before, but I think we all sufficiently resigned to the prospect now!!)
As the TC interview - unfortunately didn't tune in, but hopefully it will be on "listen again".

John Still & Chris Kinnear were at the Maidenhead game so surely they must be in the running.

Agree with that, IMHO it's totally out of order to suggest the club (ie the owners) lack ambition. Unless of course there is someone else sitting on the sidelines waiting to pump in substantially more that Terry & Oliver have. And even if there were such a person hovering, would you feel confident it wouldn't be a Milan Mandric type?
I do think the owners made mistakes in the managerial department this year, but as I've said before, the best managers I have worked for have made mistakes from time to time, there's no case to be sniping against them in my view.

raymondo I think you are on the money ! Perhaps the most enlightening thing that Terry said was that the new management appointment would be for the remainder of this season and also next season. The 2 managers you highlight, John Still and Chris Kinnear both fit the bill in terms of experience and success at the level required. Importantly, they are potentially available at short notice. The club promise an announcement next week, I think it will be sooner rather than later.

Can’t we be open to some sort of investment, like another shareholder. There’s no long term plan if we have to keep cutting the budget. If they can’t afford it which they clearly can’t at this level do something about it, no club should have to put up with the shit we’ve seen the last 2 seasons at the Gallagher. And who’s in charge of recruitment, cause we seem to have the worst recruiting system in the leagueWhat’s the point in a one month loan pathetic

No one questions their ambition but they aren’t going to take the club further judging by what we’ve seen so far in the National unless they seek outside investment or just move on themselves. FACT!
Some of the decisions the past couple of seasons especially this one have been completely retarded and illogical.
I think a lot of supporters are just slightly disillusioned with what’s going on boardroom wise and quite sick of the club having a Mickey Mouse arura to it while Casey and Ash just seem to bumble “Oh but we’re learning while we’re going along” to save face.
Bring on the National League South!

Have you not been reading the posts 🤷🏼♂️ They made a mistake hiring Wheeler we can all agree with that but the sniping at the owners is absolutely ludicrous. They have admitted mistakes but crikey would people rather have Tampon in charge??

The impression I got was that as a club as we are with the money and business plan we have its either dominate the National South or struggle in the National premier! Anything above that would take a very good manager and a load of luck. League football is a distant fantasy. Staying up this year is equally so! He's been reading my posts!

The logical consequence of not being able to afford survival/progress in the NL is that we are accepting that we are basically a top NS club, that will 'enjoy' the odd year or two in the NL from time to time.
Sounds like reality to me. Not what I would want ideally, and may be difficult for some of the newer fans to understand, but, without further 'investment', I can't see this changing. So we'll just have to get used to it. The NL is not the old Conference, it is no longer the route for ambitious non-league clubs to earn promotion, it's a 'sin-bin' for failed EFL clubs, and a route in to the EFL for clubs with sugar daddies.
Ironic really, that the club whose one-time owner almost single-handedly created promotion from non-league to EFL, is now effectively barred from taking that route.

An investor is someone who puts their money into a project in the hope/expectation that they will have a return for their money. Owning a football team is like letting Gemma Collins go to town on your credit card at lakeside, you ain't seeing a penny of it back, and you probably ain't going to have any fun either. The only hope is the black knight has one of his cska mates who is a Russian oligarch buy us, which is about as believable as reality TV shows like Geordie Shore, towie, made in Chelsea being able to increase a persons intellect. Teams like, Swansea, villa, Fulham, west brom, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, etc will continue to go up and down from the premiership to the championship, they don't have the resources to compete with the big boys in the prem, they can try and throw money around that they don't have and end up like Blackpool Portsmouth or worse we lose our club again. Thankfully Terry and Oliver financial wise are sensible with the purse strings, can you imagine the mess some other teams will be in of their owners pull out...

I watch and I listen to everything you say but oligarchs no good for this club oli hardy maybe😁 The whole club has become joke with no good football and owners so weak they have become clueless.
