I thought I saw that in a scene at the end of an episode of Eastenders, immediately before the doof doofs. Haven't seen Eastenders since JR got shot. It was all a dream - he was in the shower all along.

The incident with Shaky was that the stewards wanted to throw him out but as they went to grab him some Stones fans grabbed his other arm and a tug of war started. Given the sheer number of Stones fans he was snatched from the grasp of the stewards and whisked to our end of the ground. However, I noted that the stewards were regrouping to come and get him so I went up to the head steward and agreed to keep an eye on Shaky. A such I had to stand behind Shaky for the entirety of the first half and a) make sure he stayed on his feet (no easy task that day) and b) stayed out of trouble. It was also the day they tried to throw me out, the bouncer / security guy pushed me into the side of the ambulance that was treating Helen Terrell (club shop) who was feeling unwell after the walk to the ground! I managed to get away and got to the other end of the ground. On my way several Tonbridge fans came up to me and apologised for the behaviour of their so called stewards, the majority of Tonbridge supporters are no different to us, which is why we support non-league clubs! At the end of the game I took a photo of the thug (steward) that had pushed me, he then got very excited and demanded my phone, fortunately there were several police present who told the thug he couldn't take my phone and that he should behave himself Clearly that steward had something to hide, that picture appeared in the next issue of the Bryan Reed's SMTWTGH fanzine I later got a written apology from PBB and the chairman of Tonbridge cant remember his surname Nick someone, he also invited me to be his guest at the next home match! Obviously whilst thanking him for his offer I declined it preferring to watch Maidstone at some other sh!t hole, probably Ramsgate! That 'steward' tried to assault you at the end of the game. It was why I was arguing with the copper at the end.

Further to my enquiry about a wonderful Tonbridge lady known as the 'BITCH' I have unearthed a document where she states " amazing as I find it I have now found 2 Maidstone fans I actually like both you and a fellow called NWS" so assuming there is only one NWS(please God let that be so) I wondered if you knew if she is still around.

11 YEARS AGO 26/1/2008 AWAY v Leyton, Ryman Premier, Won 1-0 Takaloo pen, attendance 154 1.2 miles away from Brisbane Road Yes I remember and I would put good money on Maidstone fans making up 140 of those 154 fans. Is this the game when a local pub landlord put up a welcome to Maidstone fans banner and had his windows smashed by the owner of Leytons clubhouse in reprisal for taking his business away from him?

As a addendum to the above I believe PBB was sitting in Leytons clubhouse bemused at the lack of Maidstone fans and so he made enquiries and found out where we were and pissed off the Leyton chairman by walking out and coming to join us in the pub.

Who'd have imagined that then?

Looking back to the days when NWS said we shouldn't talk about it seemed then that virtually every away game came with story of happenings other than the 90 minutes of football. Either before or after the game there were incidents ,good or bad that made the days out enjoyable or miserable but mostly memorable. That doesn't seem to happen so much now and it has all become so sterile and predictable. Where are the murders ,The stabbings,The helicopters parked in the centre circle. Where are the fancy dress days,The hat boys,The right back falling through a pub roof . Where are the burning cars and used syringes around the grounds , where are the opposing mangers who accidently punch there own wife in the face causing play to be stopped to mop up the claret. This professional league is just so boring bring back the chaos,The stories,The entertainment and the fun.

Before you say it no I don't think murders and stabbings are fun or enjoyable but that didn't stop them from happening and in our case far to close to home.

Odd atmosphere in the ground for that one for sure. Due to an evil reputation for players stuff getting nicked from the dressing room wasn't Pete Norris + a n other put on guard outside the changing area to stop interlopers ?

Not heard that but it would not surprise me one little bit as Leyton was a desperate club in dire financial trouble and their squad probably went unpaid so the odd villain helping themselves would not seem unlikely. The club folded not long after this game .
