A chance also to see the fabulously named Kibongo Tsishamba, something like that anyway, who scored both their goals last night. He's a seriously good player for Oxford, has 12 goals in 23 + 2 starts this season ( previously with Boston United, MK Dons - briefly - , Nuneaton & Corby ). And maybe next with Maidstone?!

If we did, the moaners would say "oh but he's only scored goals at a lower level [Boston, Oxford C]"...

According to Flash Scores:
MK Dons: played 6 goals 0
Various NS/N: played 22 goals 26
Also played 6 games in Icland for Throttur - 0 goals
Personally, I'd give anyone called Kabongo a go!

Wasn't he one of Lenny Henry's characters?

If we did, the moaners would say "oh but he's only scored goals at a lower level [Boston, Oxford C]"... This is so true, but think about the frenzy created by Gold Omotayo earlier this year - on reality when faced with National League Defenders he so lacked self belief & simply melted away.....

We can hardly be blamed for being skeptical - Ter Horst, the 'other' Alex - and many more. For every lower-league 'gem' that someone discovers, there must be dozens who score freely at IP/NS lecel, but get shut out of the game completely in the NL.

We've had a few even in my short tenure - who do you mean?

We've had a few even in my short tenure - who do you mean? Akrofi - brought in from Brentwood Town after impressing in a cup game. Had the bad luck to join us just as we were promoted and struggled to repeat his form. We lent him back to Brentwood Town, where he helped them get promotion - thereby getting two promotion medals in one season! Left us for Hastings, then had a spell at Tonbridge, now at Aveley.

Sad really as I thought he was a good little player but apparently he is just happy to banging the ball in the net for whichever club wants him and isn't that what Non-league football is supposed to be about enjoying what you do . I am sure he would rather be playing for Aveley than sat on the bench here talking to Jack Richards.

Ohhhhh Alex Akrofi.
I seem to recall he was proper scary running at defenders, but by his own admission couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo.
Seems to have found his scoring boots down in the sticky leagues though averaging a goal every two games for Tonbridge and now Aveley.
Good to see that he's doing well.

I liked Akrofi. He reminded me of Tony Lynch, but with a little bit more spring in the legs.
