Apparently we could not agree a deal for Billy the Fish and Harry Ramp from Fulchester Tubby Morton is available from Melchester United. If Roy Race gives him the go ahead.

Isn’t Les Apps a keeper from the Vets team? Is he available at the end of the month when the Colchester kid goes home?

According to transfermarkt.co.uk there are some interesting keepers currently with no club, including Michael Poke. How accurate that site is I've no idea. My search criteria was, their last club / football played was in the National League. I also tried 'centre forward' - Yemi Odubade and Darius Osei came up

Papa was a Rollin' Stone - that should be our new song for 2019 - It is where we are as a club now.

Ethan Ross is a huge gamble but presumably, all we could get at such short notice. Started out at West Brom, never played for them but had loan spells at Redditch and Worcester City. Has never made a first team appearance for Colchester either. This is actually a big chance for him, so let's hope he takes it and does really well for us. He's a young lad and he will be nervous in his first matches at this level so let's try not to get on his back if he has a couple of dodgy early moments. He will need us right behind him, in every sense of the word From watching him @ Hartlepool yesterday, this is a gamble that looks as though it will come in big time for us. Looked confident, commanding, at ease with the situation, well honed in slowing the game down - brilliant signing IMHO.

One yellow card for timewasting* and 5 minutes added time. Danger of these coming back to bite us as we've seen before.
* could argue Aryan's booking was for dissent or timewasting. If the latter that would be two yellows for timewasting for us.

Looked confident, commanding, at ease with the situation, well honed in slowing the game down - brilliant signing IMHO. Let's hope it continues. I've read various reports about his matches elsewhere, with slightly mixed opinions but overall nothing too negative and plenty of positives. Like so many other young players, he has ended up knocking around in the reserve and under 23's for various league clubs and so you never know, a permanent move here might look attractive if he does well enough to justify making the No. 1 shirt his own. I think it's especially hard for young keepers, as FL clubs tend to go for experience in that position every time. I wonder how many regular first-choice keepers in the top four divisions are under the age of 25 - probably not that many.
