I don't really mind which league the Stones are in, as long as they don't sell the ground, ground share, and eventually go bust. Period. However, on second thoughts, maybe I do care, I don't like segregation.

I will accept relegation if we at least put up a fight with a few exciting wins, particularly at home. If we sink to the bottom of the table and give up, it's going to be a very tedious and frustrating few months. Such a good post ! At least we are still wheeler dealing for players which gives the impression that we continue to be up for the fight....

As professionals i don't think the management team or players will give up. A couple of wins and things can look very different. They won't want a relegation on their CVs. I still feel this squad of players can keep us up. Blair back would help.. i fear it will be our lack of goals that takes us down. We could see a lot of 1-0 defeats..

If a small club like Braintree can bounce back straight away, I don't see why we're gonna be stuck in that league for years upon years. National North is the tough league where teams who go down seem to struggle. What about Dartford Welling and Ebbsfleet took The Fleet years Dartford and Welling no nearer immediate rebound back is not guaranteed nor the norm.

Absolutely correct, we were so so lucky to get promoted anyway, don't want to throw that status away. Relegation might have many unforeseen outcomes - might make our owners look within and think about their own long term commitment to the project - I'm sure they could find better ways of using £ 2 M + each ( assuming they could find some mug willing to relieve them of their stake ).

Relegation may come down to the last 3 games ,I wouldn't expect to beat Salford but they have shown vulnerabilities in recent weeks so you neber know. The last 2 games are looking like the crunchers between clubs who will also be struggling to stay up. Chesterfield away could it be fathomable that they go down again well there could be 8000 there urging them not to. Braintree at home ,this could be a win and stay up or lose and go down game and with our home form you would have to back Braintree to get at least a draw. Survival is possible, of course it ,is but the odds do not look to be on our side.Would it be the end of the world? No of course it wouldnt it would just mean the glory boys who want to get into the football league will have to wait a wee bit longer.

Don t really understand all this "let's go down and save some money and consolidate" nonsense. Consolidate what? 😀😀. Our position is nothing to do being promoted too quickly, more to do with 1 shit manager. Having said that, going down wouldn't be the end of the world and at least we d win a few more games. Given the choice though, it d be staying up every time. Tbf it's a lot more than 1 shit manager more like 2 shit managers at this level and a series of cock ups at board level

Without being facetious as it’s a genuine question.. Why do fans think spending a few years in the NLS would be good to prepare for another spell in the national league!?
The two leagues are clearly so far apart in standard what could we learn there? Yes I suppose we could save a little money, but how much would that realistically be? Our ground is up to standard now so no need at this time to pump money into it. Maybe it’s just a glass half full thing finding some good in religation. Yes drinking beer next to the pitch is nice!! We would learn more coming 20th and surviving for the next couple of years than going down and walking away with the NLS. I guess it’s the question would we rather win 20 games in a lower league or lose those games and be in a higher league. So what would we enjoy more! 🤷🏼♂️

We’ve had 3 seasons almost in this league and still don’t seem ready for it. I don’t understand why rebuilding a new squad over a season or 2 and then coming back up things would be radically different as this league gets tougher each year.
From a personal and selfish perspective relegation would probably be advantageous, I get to save a bit of money on a ST to reflect the league we are in, spend less money on further away days like Gateshead, and hopefully come home happier Saturday evenings with 3 points hopefully more frequent.
But from a club perspective it’s a business, we will get less revenue and unless there’s another major chunk of hidden money to have a decent squad with a decent manager upon a POSSIBLE return to VNL it’s not worth it.

When we won promotion, we weren't "ready" for it off the pitch or on it but Jay (can I mention him) worked wonders to get a 14th place finish in the first season. Admittedly, a 19th place last season and then what we saw in the summer and early this season was not good enough (maybe 19th was good enough and was an achievement). I think we are now "ready" for the NL though. Just had a poor summer and then Harry (can I still mention him or is this living in the past) compounded this by losing the wrong players and (on the whole) getting in the wrong players. Also, I doubt you would see a reduction in season ticket prices, especially if you expect us to rebuild the squad and come back up stronger.

15 quid to watch the likes of Chippenham, Concord, Oxford etc is sure to get people flooding in.
Just need to look at Trophy and FA Cup games when we draw lower league teams at home....very few people are interested in paying 15 quid to watch them.

Look at D&R still charging £21 since they left League One I believe!! I reckon we could see £12 adult tickets as we would sell a load more beer on match days!! Anyway Romain is going to win the golden boot and we shall stay up..... 🙏🏻🥴

You'd expect Salford to be well placed in the playoffs, and resting players. The games you want at the end of the season are the mid-table teams who are already on the beach. I fear Braintree and Chesterfield will need something still.
