Great result, shame I couldn’t make it! Our next 2 league games are pivotal. Maidenhead won yesterday so a win on our Tuesday night game for either side would have massive implications. Daggers on the Saturday will be tough and they’ve had some good results lately but at least a point will be key. The morale boost from yesterday to the team will be huge. And I think we will still have to get a decent replacement for Cassidy but positive signs none the less. For those that were there, did Cassidy celebrate his goal? No celebration which was a nice touch

Great day out yesterday. Near ideal driving conditions for the time of the year. Found a good pub for lunch about 9 miles out of Hartlepool. Back in Maidstone about 9.40. Oh, and we won too. Robinson my MoTM by a mile. If its not a contradiction I thought he managed to keep us up the pitch whilst also tracking their runners where necessary. Clearly wanted to shoot on sight which, whilst not successful yesterday, is a refreshing change for this season. Based on that performance those who rubbished him here after only seeing a few minutes of him are looking very silly and should be apologising. After that win at another National league away ground we debated on the journey home whether we have now won at more National League away grounds than we haven't across the three seasons? We reckon we have now played league games away at 32 grounds since promotion with Harrogate and Chesterfield to come this season. In case anyone is mildly interested I'll post our answer later this morning. Our win yesterday was at the 17th different away National League ground.
Wins at: Aldershot, Barnet, Barrow, Boreham Wood, Braintree, Chester, Dagenham, Eastleigh, Gateshead, Halifax, Hartlepool, Macclesfield, North Ferriby Utd, Sutton, Torquay, Woking & Wrexham could add to that list this season: Bromley, Leyton Orient, & Solihull Moors plus: Chesterfield & Harrogate to complete the 34 teams.
Why 34 teams? 23 this season + 11 changes across the last 2 seasons with Braintree being relegated then promoted back.
But, surely you should take into account our old Conference days? Quite a few away grounds then that no longer even exist - Dartford, Yeovil, DH, Barnet, Wealdstone, just off the top of my head. And, of course, quite a few clubs that no longer exist...

He did and when he gets a bit more confident I think he will be a very good player And then he'll get recalled! That’s the joy of the loan system, we need a permanent keeper it’s a precarious position not having a permanent keeper and being at the whim of the parent clubs

As we left the ground to walk back towards the town, a policeman comes running over to us and says are you guys going to the station, to which we reply no we are staying over in Hartlepool for the night, he looks totally confused and says to us are you really staying, we say yes and he says wow and then walks away shaking his head

If T&W stay on - or whoever is appointed by the summer - they've got a huge task ahead of them. Loans have their place, obviously, we probably wouldn't still be in the NL without them, but the majority of the team/squad need to be permenant signings. Even if just so I can recognise who's playing!

Just looked up our home league record since promotion and it ain't pretty. A total of just 13 wins so far. Barrow, Chester and Torquay twice, then Wrexham, Woking, Braintree, Macclesfield, Eastleigh, Southport and Boreham Wood. Eight home wins in our first season, four in our second and just one so far this. Note too that six of our wins (nearly half) were against teams now relegated. Wouldn't be good if T&S can somehow get us winning at home again?

My aspirations are far more modest. I'd be grateful if they can get us to win at home. You want them to do that and then again?

The question was quite specific to the National League and was sufficient to while away the long drive home from an away game, perhaps a concept alien to you?
And, I've told you before, don't call me Surely

I don't want to go all 'pedant' on you, but, Shirley, the NL and the Conference (and the Alliance) are all the same thing? Had we been promoted a couple of years earlier, we'd have been back in the Conference, and wouldn't have noticed any real difference when we were in the NL the next season. As for long drives - I don't have a car and can't drive for more than an hour because of my arm (90% titanium), so, yes, a concept pretty alien to me.

No mention of the miracle we witnessed Toon surely that was the highlight of the weekend? Well it was, so here it goes we were sat in the local Wetherspoons prior to the game and a lady was pushed into the pub in a wheelchair, I jokingly said if she gets up and walks Maidstone will win, not 5 minutes later the lady does indeed stand up and walk, she also pushed her own wheelchair away, job done and Maidstone win the game

Didn't you invite her down to the Gally? We could do with her as an omen/mascot/good luck charm.

What lets our away form down is that there is only one draw, but even so, six away wins is bloody good for a team lying 23rd.
