How many shirts dies Effiong need. Spent all afternoon trying to get De Havilland's off him. With Cassidy going though, we could do with someone like him.

Very disappointing result, performance half decent but not good enough.
In fairness in the first half we were competitive and showed some quality, albeit with no great cutting edge.
Then came the second half fade, with Dover upping their game and Stones not having much response.
Overall a good defensive performance, but our midfield doesn't seem to maintain their presence over 90 minutes.
Seriously lacking width up front, badly missing players like Turgott, Shields and Loza.
The team is not a million miles away, but everybody knows we need another 3/4 players of the right quality in the right positions.
Seems crazy really after all the Wheeler Dealing but we are where we are rather than where we should be.
No complaints about our new look management team !

Our problem isn't the defence - same as always, we can't score goals. And I'm afraid Robinson isn't the answer - especially if we take our best midfielder off when we bring him on!!

Well that game certainly brought us a big kick of reality up the back side. Lacked any sort of imagination certainly in the 2nd half, oh well roll on Saturday I guess. And without our No.1 striker. Any one got Frannie Collins number?

I reckon Effiong's nickname should be ' the octopus ' or something like that, because at every opportunity in every challenge he had arms flailing away at Stones defenders. Just a disgrace, and piss poor from the Officials allowing him to get away with it all game.

Our midfield was either missing quality or made poor decisions. Ayren gives 100% but is missing the final ball. Paxman as usual is either sublime or ridiculous with his play. Powel was somewhere in the middle. What I did notice is we were falling over each other and lacked any width. My old man suggested it was like watching Aylesford under 8s running after the ball in a pack! Had we started with Reason and Lewis in our midfield I would have been screaming at the manager, but alas Dover took our rejects and won the game! It was very close, but in the end the difference was a player with the long throw! It was only a matter of time before one of those balls dropped nicely. Like Warner but he is not good in the air. Rooted to his line for a couple or corners or throws that he should have claimed. So a few positives but giving Dover 6 points was criminal

All those who made the same complaint about Worgs, well now you can see what it really means.

Disappointing result today but hardly unexpected. It's gonna take a while to unpick Harry's recruitment policy, and in the meantime we are left with a very unbalanced squad. I suspect it's gonna be a hell of a struggle until we get a target man to replace Cassidy. Maybe we'll have to learn to keep the ball on the deck. There was one sublime passing move in the first half so we know that can do it.
