Another very honest and engaging interview from Tristan and Simon. Carry on like that and they can be a fantastic public face of the club. Sad that the players were no longer enjoying it under Harry but if these two can put the smile back on their faces we could see a turnaround sooner rather than later.
Agreed, excellent interview a must see for all I think
They didn't exactly describe "the mess" the club was in when they took over, but there were a lot of hints.
I actually think they were right to be respectful of HW's tenure, whatever we might think he was trying to do what he thought was best. Tristan used the phrase "people person" a few times and to be honest I think that is the biggest thing Harry has to learn and I hope he does. I am very glad to see him go, but I have no ill will towards him - his promising managerial career is probably even more damaged than Jay's by the way this season has progressed but I hope that they both soldier on.
I really think than Tristan & Simon really "get" the situation - I was impressed with the release about Monday's training session already :
And this interview just reinforced it especially the comments about the players "take the shackles off" , "come out of the cage" .
I wasn't sure if Harry & Tristan would prove to be joined at the hip, but thankfully not it seems.
My hope now for the rest of the season (as it actually has been for the last few days) is that performances (not necessarily results) over the next couple of games are sufficient to see Tristan & Simon given the job to the end of the season - I still think we are odds on to go down, but they are imho a better bet than another outsider and they might be a pairing that would be prepared to stick around and help us regroup if the result is ultimately relegation.
In one comment I thought Tristan suggested he might be up for a permanent position.
Too late for me now to change my plans and come to Boring Wood, but all being well I do intend to turn up for training on Monday - Oh and Sword I'll provide the free pint if that's all it takes to get you along.
We'll have to agree a code-word though : I can just imagine the "I am Spartacus" moment if I stand up in the spitfire and announce a "free beer for sword" ;-)
