But not to the players. Or are they actually as bad as him? Hope not.

Maybe I was a bit hasty saying that perhaps he should go. The malaise in our football team seems to have set in after the first couple of months in this league a couple of years ago. Jay Saunders was a fantastic manager for us in Division One South but we went up immediately and on a crest of a wave we were rocking into this league. Now we've found a few leaks in the boat. Jay seemed to lose hope and the dressing room at the start of this season and it seems that it was a good time for him to hand the paddles to a new manager. I thought it was brave of the directors to hand those paddles to Harry; young, exciting, successful with Billericay, but with no experience in this league. Despite a couple of people on here saying I was his gay partner or a member of his family, I hadn't actually heard of the man. As a supporter, I thought it would be good to see this exciting young prospect keep us up and rebuild the club. We are in a difficult position. We have been for a while and have been so at other times in the last couple of seasons. But a poor low position at the end of this season, after ups (first half) and downs second half) like today, is not the end of the club or any kind of tragedy. It's just a difficult season. That's the same if we get relegated. Look at Woking and how they have reacted to that. Look at Leyton Orient, a big club who have come down and rebuilt.
I don't think we will win our next two games, but what if we did?
I think I'm coming back to stick with Harry. I wish him good luck against Borehamwood. And I'm looking forward to revenge against Dover at the Gallagher on NYD.

The sentiment is one thing, but where is the evidence? If I was doing Wheeler's performance management review, I would be asking for evidence of his impact since joining the club. In terms of results, there isn't any. In terms of anything else, not much. In a results driven business, he has failed.

Dover were there for the taking. First half was pretty turgid, but we were marginally the better if two awful sides. To be 1-0 up against a team that bad, surely second half we should have pressed high up the pitch and put them to the sword, but instead sat deeper and deeper. I said to my mate after about 50 minutes, there's no way we can hold out like this for another 40 minutes, and sure enough we utterly capitulated. No organisation, no desire, no heart, and in the end 3-1 for flattered us. Probably should have been 5 or 6 and probably would have been but for Worner. Surely this was Harry's last chance, the atmosphere after the third went in was toxic. So Bill, if we all took your advice and didn't turn up I guess you'd be lucky to get 300 on new year's day. Fortunately for the owners, football fans are loyal to the club however dire the performances, and however much we feel the manager is totally out of his depth. You'll probably still get 2000 through the gates on new year's day but I'd wager only a handful still support Harry Wheeler.

No tactics, players playing with fear and no confidence, awful football second half. Ref poor but not sure Stones fans can keep watching that rubbish. Dover full of our cast offs and showed - as predicted - the fight needed to win a local derby. So many regulars not here today.

Thing is theres a lot of the regularly more reserved fans calling time on Wheeler not the usual hot heads. Which says it all. It's not a minority of a few dissidents. It's regularly and long term loyalists

There is competition for this award but second 45 minutes was probably the worst I have viewed in our time in the National League. Total capitulation, shocking football, no ideas, no quality, no fight, no anything. Really pathetic, defies belief what HW has down to the club. I'm not going to critics players as they have no chance with this man in charge. Such a pity.

That can be the only possible reason for such misguided loyalty and naivety in the face of such overwhelming reasons otherwise.

Of course I haven't. Let's see what happens over the next five or six games. If we get nine or ten points then we are heading in the right direction. Yes, I'm sticking with him. We are a new club to this league. It is a very good quality league. We will do well to stay up. Under Jay we would have done well to stay up.

Never seen the forum so unanimous. Seemed like a good appointment but clearly wasn t. I m sure the owners will come good and do the right thing. Not one for encouraging changing managers so frequently but he s clearly out of his depth. He ll be gone by the end of the year.

We've had a poor run. That's why the forum is almost unanimous.

We're effectively 6 points from safety and you want us to give him another 5-6 games?? deary me

Unusual description of the tactics of Harry Wheeler's Stones this evening in KentOnline "keeping football to a minimum" Nothing new in that, as supporters we've all suffered with his awful hoofball most of the season. Thank goodness the end is in sight.
