Richards is creative and gives the ball away less. I would only play Paxman if he's not allowed anywhere near our half of the pitch. ob1 you are right daveu you are wrong such a pity that you have allowed Pax bashing to become an obsession. as supporters we are all in this together, time to step knocking players and get behind them

Look at the chances he created against Gillingham Motm by miles. I say say give him a free role in a five man midfield..

Not really bashing Paxman, if he could cut out the silly errors he would be my first player on the teamsheet every week. But he's had quite a few chances now and Richards has barely had a sniff. Surely time to give him a chance, and I think he would fit Paxman's role perfectly.

tbh I have been surprised that Jack Richards has not been given a few more run-outs this season. Not seen a great deal if him but always liked his qualities. But to start Saturday, well that would represent quite a gamble. To a large extent though, Jay has been selecting experienced, defensive minded players over younger more creative players and that just hasn't been working. So perhaps we will see some changes for Saturday. I hope so.

On Richards, I thought he looked really promising in his cameos last season. This year not seen enough of him. Phillips aside as he's fairly new, the midfield has been way too negative majority of the time.

The thing about our side is that we are either covering our defensive deficiencies by playing Reason, Reece and Lewis, and then wondering why DSY isn't getting double figures from the balls we ping to him around his throat 40 yards from goal, or we play the attacking midfielder, like Paxman, and Lewis and Reason, and then Lewis and Reece are not good enough to hold the midfield and give him the ball and time that he needs to create.
We have been crying out for a strong quick CM to build from. Lewis, who I rate highly as both a captain, player and motivator, has great games, but more often that not he runs around from player to player with little impact on the game. His energy and willingness to work see him stand out a mile against Reason for example, who is a luxury player - great to have when we are playing well (were playing well). We'd get more from Lewis if we had someone who can help on the workload but also pass it forward to our "flair" players.
It's easy to debate DSY's goal record, and Paxman's creativity and lightweightedness (is this a word) but our balance is all over the place. It's just players thrown out there and told to run fast, tackle hard, and try 110%.
I think we need a little more thought to our recruitment.

Their no DSY or Joe Anderson would be in my starting line after the way thy played at Solihull that's for sure. Hare to right back, Seth to left back. Finney and De Haviland at centre back. Lewis in the centre with a recalled Paxman. Phillips out left, Turgott out right. Wraight and Coker up front. I'd tell Coker and Paxman I want plenty of expression. I'd tell Lewis and Phillips I want to see a few tackles. I'd tell Wraight to win a lot of ball in the air. i'd tell the the entire team to go out and win the e****g game

Delano doesn’t win 40 yard balls because for some inexplicable reason he’s useless in the air.

Lewis and Worgan are the first two names on the teamsheet, because, regardless of whether they play well or not, they are the life force of the team - the ones whose heads don't drop when others might.

Think if we lose Saturday we are down. Barrow and Woking will probably both beat Guisely and I don't see us winning any of our last 3 games. My lineup would be Worgan Wynter Finney De Hallivand Seth Phillips Richards Lewis Wraight Coker Luer

We clearly see things very differently. Stuart Lewis is my Player of the Season (again) Quick question Nick, does any of the players deserve to be awarded this title this season, none of them in my opinion have basked themselves in glory an earned the award, so in my opinion the club should hold on to the prize this season. Maybe look at all of us who have spent fortunes as well as are time travelling the length of the country to support them despite the performances, and what happened at Solihull with half the team not even clapping us fans at the end of the match really stuck in my throat.
