The wheels really have come off at Orient if that shower can beat them.
As Dave says, none of these results really matter, as long as we do what we have to do to stay up, and Saturday's three points were an excellent start. Also, we have a game in hand on all three teams above us, and two of those are in shit form at the moment.
I think the survival threshold will be lower this season, no more than 50 points, perhaps even the high 40s, so, providing we can get a couple more wins and a draw or two, we're OK. I think that the only 'relegation' side with a real chance to escape is Solihull, and if they do manage it, it's Hartlepool and possibly Woking, or even Orient, who should be worrying, not us.

It will be interesting to see what we can get out of our next three games. Macclesfield and Sutton are one and two in both the actual and form tables, with Wrexham not far behind in the latter. Two draws and a win would go a long way towards saving our season, as well as showing the impact of new signings. Equally, we could end up with nothing and with Solihull's future very much in their own hands (playing everyone around them), could be the herald of seriously sweaty palms time. However, we can often play better against the better sides, so let's hope this means we will lift our game and start to make progress again.

Personally think 3 points from the next three games would be 'good'.
6 or more would be 'excellent' - and a bloody miracle.

Torquay have an interesting run-in - whether or not they're capable of a great escape is another matter. FWIW I reckon we'll W3D3L4 and finish about where we are now. I'd love us to beat Hartlepool and help relegate them (still bitter from the 1980s).

The run-in:
H Sutton 2 (1) H Macclesfield 1 (2) A Wrexham 4 (8) H Hartlepool 19 (21) A D&R 11 (19) A Guiseley 24 (20) A Solihull 21 (12) H Fylde 6 (7) A Chester 23 (24) H Halifax 15 (3)
current league location (form - last four games)
On paper, we'll be lucky to get more than a point from the first two, but Wrexham looks a bit more promising. Their form is actually slightly false, as their only recent win was Chester, with four draws before that. And their other wins in the last ten games have all been against teams in or around relegation.
The following three, Hartlepool, D&R and Guiseley are probably the key games for our season - all winnable, but none easy. A couple of wins from these three and a couple of points elsewhere and we should be safe.
As things stand, I wouldn't expect much from Solihull and Fylde, but you never know, the new signings should have settled in by then, and with a win or two behind us, we could be a different team.
Chester could be down by the time we play them, so that will be completely unpredictable. Let's just hope we don't go there needing the three points. And finally Halifax - hopefully we'll both be safe by then and we can have nice relaxed end-of-season game in the sunshine, with no one caring about the result!
I'd go for a point at Wrexham, wins against Hartlepool and Guiseley, a draw at Dagenham and a point at Chester - giving us 51, which hopefully will be enough. We all know it won't go anything like that! But I still think we should be OK.

Last season with 10 to go we had 2 points less - but we'd just taken 11 points from 5 games starting at York (before that we were on less than a point a game and in real trouble) and then took 18 from those last 10 to finish on 58 points, 14th place, GD -16 (we're currently on -12). I can see us improving on the goal difference but not the league position or number of points. My prediction of W3D3L4 was wins v Hartlepool, Guiseley, Chester; draws v Solihull, D&R, Halifax. I wouldn't want to bet on any of them though.

The next 3 games are unimportant imo, any points we do garner from them will be a bonus. The ball is very much in our court even if we lose to all 3 of Sutton, Macc and Wrexham. The games that we need to win are our five (5!) 6-pointers, and 6 points may be all we need.

Yup, you can see from my predicted draws and victories I think we'll lose the next 3 (and Fylde), but I thought we'd get nothing v Aldershot and Dover...
Because these next 3 games are "nothing to lose" I hope Jay goes attacking, giving Loza and Coker a chance to shine.

Loza Coker and Turgott would be a real attacking line up. Loza added so much more when he came on in place of Paxman so with Lewis back I'd be happy to start Lewis and also give the new lad Phillips a run out. Reason has really tailed off, and I hope he never has a part in delivering any set piece ball again.

Irrelevant of points I,m starting to worry about how soon the season finishes and then we have weeks of being at home every weekend to do all that nonsense stuff like DIY how I hate non football weekends.

It's a difficult choice isn't it. Do I want to be without proper football for a couple of months (sorry the world cup just doesn't count), or am I so fed up with being freezing cold all the time that I can sacrifice football for a couple of months of warm weather.

But I get the point about delivering set pieces. Shocking. Poor Jack Paxman, our only truly creative midfielder, he was being asked to do so much v Torquay. At least with the departure of 2 centre backs this week, Jay won't be able to field 4 of them in the starting X1 ! But like hammerstone, I fancy the look of Loza, Coker and Turgott in the attacking line up, but I suspect 2/3 at best. Surely we need a target man/holding player like Lafayette or DSY or both ? Still not seen enough of Coker to judge him and nothing at all of Phillips. So it's down to Jay in whom we trust, but just hope we show a few more attacking intentions than Saturday.
