In a somewhat surprising turn of events, Mrs JDL has OK'd me going to Dover!
I'm not entirely convinced that she heard, or understood, the words 'Boxing' and 'Day' though...
Nor am I sure that she understands I was already planning to go to EIGHT games in the next 30 days!
Maybe it's because it's winter and I'm indoors all the time...

By the time that lot,s over, I,ll be a little older and a lot poorer! But Christmas has already wiped me out, so hey, ho... That's the way the cookie has crumbled this year - only one more away I can make after that.

disappointing though, glad I'm not under the thumb of er indoors ! To be fair, it's not a case of being 'under the thumb', it's trying to keep a balance between watching games and domestic life - a bit of bugger at times, especially if you have young kids. And the way the fixtures have fallen this year is a bloody nightmare - almost nothing some months, then everything at once in the next 5 or 6 weeks! Of course, it would help a bit if my dearly beloved was remotely interested in (or even aware of) football!!

My wife is aware of football, however she detests the game and can’t understand why I want to visit places like Barrow, Halifax and Solihull, mind you I sometimes think the same

disappointing though, glad I'm not under the thumb of er indoors ! Not under the thumb, but sometimes it’s the bigger picture, me missing the Dover away game gets me to watch the rest of the games through to the end of January, then I plan on missing the Bromley away game so I can then do the other away games, I think to be honest I prefer the longer journeys, I must have a train fetish I didn’t know about

My first visit to Bromley last year, and not somewhere I'd really want to go back to. Very poor facilities for away fans, no cover on the away terrace (if I remember correctly), and no atmosphere.. Funny thing about away experiences - I'd happily go back to Sutton or Dulwich, for instance - even Braintree (despite getting soaked!), but other grounds I just tick them off the list and have no desire to go back.
