Any one know if running a coach to Macclesfield? (Was going last year until cancelled due to fixture clash / snow!)

A wild guess, admittedly, but I'd try Tim.

I wouldn't bother with tim, his coaches take far too long to get anywhere. Should by 2 hours tops.

When quoting the time it normally takes me to get to Hartlepool Senna, I did not take into account how many times you have to stop and "stretch" your old worn out legs. Next time I will allow more time, maybe SAGA might be your best choice of travel.

Coach will take 4 hours minimum with no stops and that is on the basis M25 and M6 are clear which from recent experience they will not be especially from J16 on M6 which is constantly blocked in roadworks

So, I return home from work, and as yet none the wiser, with no helpful informative replies. Good to see the forum exhibiting normal service. I was hoping there would be a sensible person on the forum with such information?

As you say good alternative is M1 to j23a/24 then take A50 to Stoke and A34 to Congleton then onto Macclesfield. Route via Leek and Ashbourne is ok but very winding and littered with speed cameras
