Sounds like they're bending over just enough, so fingers crossed. And Hamlet need to return, their attendance has collapsed. I wonder what state their pitch is in by now, though? Since they've been locked out, we've had over two months of drought, a wet August, and a fairly dry but sunny September. If it's not been maintained, it will be half dead and half jungle!

Sounds like they're bending over just enough, o fingers crossed. And Hamlet need to return, their attendance has collapsed. I wonder what state their pitch is in by now, though? Since they've been locked out, we've had over two months of drought, a wet August, and a fairly dry but sunny September. If it's not been maintained, it will be half dead and half jungle! Not good - someone snuck in and took pictures recently (which i'm struggling to find at the moment) and the pitch was in a very poor state. Really hope they can get back to Champion Hill, I went to one of the last fundraisers there last season and it really is a great place to watch football. Any links to pages showing their current attendances? Tooting isn't the best place to get to, especially if you live in Dulwich itself.

Ignore me, found the attendance numbers (good ol' football web pages!), currenty averaging gates of 821.
Huge shame. They've effectively halved despite their promotion to a higher league. It does go to show, that things like this can happen to the bigger, more rooted teams and not just the little ones (i.e. Thamesmeads very different but relevant issues).
On another note, interesting to see Worthing topping the Ryman attendance levels with over a 1000 per game!

It is so so sad that a famous name like Dulwich Hamlet are being treated so badly and these photographs just make you want to cry. With the sad news of Thamesmead going to the wall probably followed by Nuneaton it just makes you wonder why any of us bother to take an interest in non league football when so many people don't give a flying f##k for it. Sad days indeed.😠

We at least it's been cut! Although not by a lawnmower, and certainly not by a groundsman. These must have been taken late July, early August - by the end of August the grass was green again. As it's been warm and reasonably wet since (ideal grass weather), God alone knows what state the pitch is in now. I would imagine it's beyond saving by now - even if they cut it back, it would take weeks to get back to anything approaching a decent pitch. So it looks like they'll need to relay it. Not only will that cost, but it will delay their return for weeks after they get permission to go back. Also, it's a bit late in the year for relaying a pitch, the grass just isn't going to grow enough over the winter to bond the turf properly. Whatever happens, I can't see Hamlet playing at Champions Hill again until late spring at the earliest.

This won't be resolved anytime soon. Both sides are too entrenched.

Reports say 4-6 weeks but it would not surprise me if it takes a wee bit longer having seen the photos of the pitch ,a lot of work to be done to get that right again.
