This is a thread solely for anyone who has something positive to say. Corporate whingers have lots of other threads to vent their spleens. Indeed, not sure if much spleen is left anywhere after last weekend. So, we are still not in the relegation zone - and may not be. We have a new striker to look forward to. Vaz is back, Yemi is scoring goals, albeit disallowed ones, we have a fine stadium and it is almost Christmas. Bah humbug to negativity!

Ok here goes. For me I've never underestimated any team in this league. All there for winning promotion so all good to start. still quite a few games for players to get some confidence back and start getting the points.

Thank goodness a chance to be positive. God knows how the wrist slitters would be reacting if we were actually in the bottom four. Older fans who have been through the good and bad times understand that every now and again you have a relegation-fight kind of season. We used to have them in the APL before (Barry Fry anyone). For our lovely new post-2012 fans it is arguably a lot tougher after years of glory. Things could look better in a month if we can get hold of a couple of experienced players. The new signing might actually be quite good. Vas looked well up for it on Saturday and the directors are investing in our lovely ground. Yes the results are crap and the football is very frustrating but we've been here before!

this might sound a bit strange to say but we were desperately unlucky in Saturday. Three (or was it four ?) goals disallowed, hit the bar, several near misses and their penalty was dubious really.
Nothing went for us. Not sour grapes or looking for an excuse, that's the way it goes sometimes. But I'm firm believer that these things even themselves out over a season and the luck will go our way in other games (hopefully in many still ahead of us).
Their time wasting tactics were brought out very early on and it's so frustrating to see when you're on the receiving end. I know we'd do the same, all teams do it and it's kind of regarded as 'being professional' in an ironic kind of way ! There was one instance in the second half when the ball went out for a goal kick, one of our players (Yemi I think) went to get the ball and placed it on the six yard line for the goalkeeper in an attempt to get things going again quickly .... needless to say this was net by the goalkeeper picking up the ball and moving it across to the opposite side of his goal so he could use up another few seconds (or two minutes !!?) to take his goal kick. Laughable really - but still within the laws of the game really, although as somebody else pointed out - it's almost like the FA encourage this kind of thing by allowing keepaaaahs to do this !!

Well, won that bet with myself. Took less than an hour for negative to invade positive. Yes, we are losing, but the point is to have a section where negative opinions are put aside. Or is it that some of you are only happy when we are losing???

If it's similar to what I put then yes.

I had a bit of an epiphany the other day, when I realised we have two owners who came in and invested £5 million on a new stadium for a moribund non league club with virtually no chance of recouping their outlay.
How often is such a minor miracle followed by several promotions and all the right decisions made on a regular basis? Have we become such snowflakes that we cannot contemplate one relegation in an industry built on movement between divisions?

Something positive you say? OK, if results continue along the recent trend the majority of the Sky Sports football fans on here will disappear from the ground thus creating more space in the Town End for those real Maidstone fans who know what a "shit season" really looks like. There you go, positivity.

Personally I didn't think we were at all bad on Saturday. I'm not gonna moan about the ref is it just starts to sound like excuses, but surely we're due one or two dodgy decisions going our way for a change. Main positive was Vaz's performance. He looked well up for it and gave them problems all afternoon. I still think we have the ability to get out of trouble and apart from the one mistake for their first goal we were easily the better side. I thought the midfield looked pretty good, especially second half and if Jay can get the striker he's looking for he will certainly get decent service with Vaz and Bobby-Joe putting in decent crosses from both sides. My only slight negative is that I can't see a place for Flish in the side at the moment. He's lost that bit of pace that made him such an exceptional winger and still seems some way off learning how to play as a striker. Maybe a few games as an impact sub will get him back the form that seems to have deserted him at the moment and we will see again the player we know he can be.

so typical that I have to follow daveu with this ever so exciting positivity thread trouble is, given the constraints set out by 61666, I found myself with nothing to say but in the spirit of the thread I wish it a long life that goes on and on and on
