will me and our 20+ other supporters be segregated on Tuesday night? Well I,ll be there Tuesday, I don,t mind being segregated seeing as there may be as many as 50 of us mad bad Maidstone fans, just so long as they allow us access to the chip shop.

You will be in the Wilbuts stand ,holds 3650 but partitioned off so you will be on the half way line .Home fans are only in the main stand ,behind the goals are closed .

"behind the goals are closed"
Capacity - 10,249, current average attendance - 3,988.
Not knocking the attendance (obviously!), but I'm left to wonder why a club that has spent almost all its existence in Div 4/League 2 has spent the money on developing four (nearly) all-seater stands, with a total capacity of over 10,000?
This is the equivalent of an average attendance at the JWW of about 1,200. Whilst that may not sound so bad, try to imagine the JWW with 4 stands and only 1 third full - with both ends closed.

In those leagues, every so often they get a "Big" team to play. Supposing they got City or United (or even Blackburn or Burnley)in the league cup, they would be much closer to capacity, with all the extra income that entails

But is it worth it for having a stadium two-thirds empty the rest of the time (especially with the ends closed)? The great thing about the JWW (apart from it being 10 minutes from my house!) is that it feels full - we can get that intimidating 'full house' feel with only 2,000+ fans. That's always been a huge thing in our favour - visiting teams/fans, used to small crowds, being greeted by a 'full house'. And, because the stadium has grown with our promotions, we've managed to keep that all the way from the Isthmian South to the National. Even for Rochdale, whose average gate is nearly twice ours, it must have been quite a rare experience to be playing in front of a (nearly) capacity crowd.

They don't have both ends shut for league games though.
They're just doing it for this cup game because they know it will be a small crowd....Gillingham did the same on Saturday against Brackley.

Just think ,round 3 FA cup Man Utd at home ,you get how many in ?? Alot of the ground improvements have been forced on us by outside factors over the years besides us wanting to have a decent ground. We have only had a couple of full houses as the ground is now and to be fair 6/7000 in there is a cracking atmosphere, when you have the likes of Bolton /Sheffield Wed /Utd / Leeds plus a few others taking 3500 away fans it soon tots up and we have had a few lately .A full away stand gives us an extra 50K in receipts so its worth having even though it may not be used so often .Even FC united filled it once but we had to share gate money and we lost FFS.

How did they get his registration through the FA? I hope the Dale don't suffer the consequences of "fielding" (on the bench but absent) an ineligible player. But a very nice gesture all the same.

This is a heartbreaking read and also a fantastic gesture by the club. We should acknowledge it on the night along with the Rochdale fans

Football takes a back seat when you read about poor josh.
Anyhow you will have 3500 seats on Tuesday the best away view in league 1 unique as it's not behind either goal you are opposite the main stand. It suits because the rest of the ground holds 6700 including 1500 or so standing spots in the sandy lane ( to your right as you look at the pitch ) we get 3000 or so regulars so 3700 places for day trippers when we get an attractive game come to visit us.
3500 away is ideal for Sheffield United - Bradford - Wigan last year - oldham - bury even although there away support is both pathetic and Neanderthal. When we do sell out 3500 at £22 it's a proper pay day for a club our size the coffers boosted by over £80 000 per game by the time you have sold programmes and food concession etc. very rare do we come close to 10 000 we had about 6500 in for our league 2 promotion games but the stadium is cool cost it can generate atmosphere even with only 1500 on.
The attendance Tuesday I suspect will be around the 2000 mark. Maybe less if footy on TV
Is it England Tuesday on terrestrial ?
