I might be wrong an sure someone will correct me, but do Sutton not rent out there pitch for training purposes to a football league club? I,m sure they used to.

Is Doswell's going the end of Sutton's dream of promotion - or even of survival in the NL? Unless there's money going into the club that we don't know about, it was surely Doswell that made the difference? No disrepect to a club I genuinely like, but it's always been a mystery to me that, what is basically a NS club, did so well in the NL. Do you think you could go to Dover on saturday to see JS1 make his first 'appearance' as Sutton's new manager ?

I noticed after the game that their season tickets for next year were only £169 that works out at around £7 per game so the big funding is not coming from that direction. I might be wrong but isn't that just the Early Bird price? They were doing them for £99 last season.

But I'd be surprised if Jay wasn't in the running. He'd be an ideal fit there. Not sure he (or anyone else) would keep them up long-term, though. But I think we're more likely to meet Jay again managing one of our opponents next season.

Not sure Dave but I read the poster twice and it seems to me that is the price and that is it no mention of early bird offer but it does seem a little on the low side and they surely cannot compete with prices that low.

Just had a look on their website and it us an early bird discount but the £169 is for first time buyers and renewals are even cheaper at £149 but it doesn't say how much after 27 April but it still seems suicidally low.

Would be nice to see Saunders at Sutton, but he will have his work cut out if the budget is as low as people are suggesting! Would we see the likes of Worgan and Lewis moving from Dover, in which case National league survival would be a success each year. It was just under a year ago when Steve Watt left Margate around the time Nicky Southall left us, then all of a sudden he signs as Jay’s number 2. Stones have always done Ok against Sutton in recent years and that success against Macclesfield helped Jay get the job offer there. Who knows, but good luck to him and Sutton

When you think of all the other clubs in that area then you can understand why they have priced them so low to try an tempt people into buying them.

Probably helps not having to compete with three nearby NL rivals for players.

I realise this is about the National North, but Blyth Spartans have stated they will have to dramatically slash their playing budget next year, which is kind of worry considering they could still make the play offs

I realise this is about the National North, but Blyth Spartans have stated they will have to dramatically slash their playing budget next year, which is kind of worry considering they could still make the play offs My source of information from Ellington just the other side of Blyth is that they have overspent trying to compete in a league that has some big teams and big budgets and these teams get considerably larger attendances than Blyth. It is also reported that one of the directors is transferring his money and interest to join up with Hebburn fc who I know have big plans for the future. Add this to the fact that this northern outpost hasn't really moved on from the 1960s and is a desperately poor town now that docks are not so prosperous. I think ,like us in a way, that they are not yet ready for National league football yet and should prepare for longer in the northern half

The NL is getting more and more like the PLeague, with one exception. TV money. Indeed, throughout the Football League, teams (mostly) survive through Sky/BT, with parachute payments easing the pain of relegation. No such luxuries in the he NL, so any team promoted from below needs to be financially secure, both in the depth of their sugar daddy's pockets and their business model, or they may not survive at all. With the average stay in the NL being so short, there ought to be a sign on the door saying 'beware all who enter here!'

Paul Doswell bound for Havant + taking a lot of ( ex ) Sutton players with him - according to the gossip / trash on twitter - that's one team we might struggle to finish above next year.

One of several! I think we should get used to the idea that next season is about rebuilding from scratch and building for the future, not getting straight back into the NL. Given that almost a third of the table is playoff places, I think we don't have much choice but to aim for that, but I still think of this as consolidation and recovery, not trying to get straight back where we struggled so badly. Let the others kill themselves fighting to get back up. We should go back only when we're ready.
