I suggest you watch the video again an watch how other members of Ebbsfleet team react, there reaction alone is paramount to assault, now you nor anyone else cannot say the fans verbally abused all the players but some of them rush into the goal to get hold of the fans. I am not saying what the fans did or didn,t say is right but the reactions were wrong, and deserve to be punished as much as any fan found guilty of verbal abuse does. Or do you think it,s acceptable for players to attack fans because of something someone might of said. Just watched it again on the news. It is against the law to invade the pitch. Several dozen people did so in a violent manner. A Chesterfield fan has been banned for ten years and the club are investigating racial abuse. The thugs are lucky they weren't treated more roughly. Several Premier League players have recently been racially abused, including a banana being thrown, something I thought we had left behind in the 1970s. I really don't see how any one can turn that round to a black player being at fault or hooligans being the victim. I never said a black player was at fault did I. I said the reaction of some Ebbsfleet players was both extreme and illegal.

I apologise jakeyboi. Dave is just of a generation who see race in different terms to more modern and forward thinking people.

Personally I do not condone the actions of the fans but this incident was made so much worse by this reaction.

So what if he is a wind up merchant does that mean people can abuse him and mention his skin colour, I don’t think so, if you do then there is something seriously wrong with your moral compass, so just to clarify you can call him a wanker, a prick, a bastard or anything else that takes your fancy however when you mention skin colour before that insult that is stepping over the line and in my book and the law of the land is racial abuse APOLOGIES FOR THE SWEARY WORDS

So has the racial abuse been verified and confirmed or is it merely an allegation. Quoting the law of the land you are innocent until proven guilty

Completely agree. Anyone who says he is "playing the race card" or he "brought it on himself" is clearly ignorant to the situation or inherently racist themselves. Goalies do get a lot of stick due to their position on the field. The line of acceptable and witty abuse / banter is shifting it seems. So why, out of all the hundreds of black players (including goalkeepers) playing non-league football, is Nathan the only one to keep hitting the headlines. Two sides to every story. Perhaps the others choose to ignore it thinking it is the norm and that they have to put up with it. Just because others are not reporting it doesn't mean that they are not being racially abused some people choose to suffer in silence. Raheem Stirling raised it with regards to some fans, Renee hector raised it against another player, we have seen the spurs fan throwing the banana and these have/are being acted on. Maybe if there are more cases like Stirling, hector and ashmore highlighting the issue maybe more will be done to deal with the racist abuse that black and other minority players receive.

I merely pointed out that he seems to attract controversy, far more the any other black player. Maybe he should consider that he gets abused not because of his colour but because he is a wind up merchant.

I refer you to my previous question.
What did Nathan Ashmore do to warrant illegal and immoral racial abuse at Eastleigh?

Personally I do not condone the actions of the fans but this incident was made so much worse by this reaction. If the fans had not invaded the pitch and confronted the players then there would have been no reason for the other players to come over and get involved. I'm a bit old school in my way of thinking but if one of my teammates who is on the pitch is being attacked by fans invading the pitch I'm over there to defend him. As such i don't think the Ebbsfleet players should not receive any disciplinary action, yes people will say they did something wrong and two wrongs don't make it right but had the fans not invaded the pitch then there would have been no incident. Fans should never be on the pitch and whilst they should not be fair game if they are attacking a player(s) then the players should be allowed to defend themselves until security have woken up and wobbled over to the scene and sat on the pitch invaders.

But most of those indulging in what they think of as banter are thick as shit and either don't realise or don't care that their behaviour is offensive.

Elsewhere in the National (South), Glenn Tamplin is in the US "receiving treatment for burnout"... Sounds like he’s found somebody else who’s only too keen to relieve him of a large lump of cash. A fool and his money are soon parted. (It takes a bit longer with him as he has so much of it, but it’s gradually being extracted). Makes a change from journeymen footballers fleecing him I suppose.
