Oh goodie. The forum police are getting together to gang up on me because I don't share their childish petulant view of the world. OK, as I'm still pissed off from yesterday and need cheering up, I'll do an nws... Please show me where I have been "whining and sniping" and have expressed my "childish petulant view of the world". On second thoughts, don't bother, it's a lovely day and I'm going outside to take my frustration out on what little fencing I've got left after storm Bastard. Still, could be worse:

Why not get your own personality to take on Dave U. Although he seems to be rolling you over very nicely.

I can totally appreciate and understand the original poster feeling deflated. One minute we're in a title race, then we fail to turn up for 2 home games and a midweek trip to Truro beckons. Other side of the coin - it's amazing to be in the playoffs at all. Let's just hope the team don't roll over and disappoint in them.

It is frustrating to have had such a solid season and then lose heart at the 'business end' of the season.
It's fair enough to say 'we're lucky to be in the playoffs' but why not go for the juggular and desperately want to win it. As fans, we have every right to be greedy and see our team do well and get promoted - to say 'its fine, we're in the playoffs' is like saying 'no thanks, I don't want a pay rise, I have a job'. It's backwards logic, and I for one am gutted we seem to have downed arms a few weeks ago.
Don't get me wrong, I am VERY Happy with the season we've had, but success can be interpreted in a different ways and I echo OxfordStones comments - we're smashing it one minute, the next we're gutless (See: Chelsmford away, Sutton at home, Dartford at home...)

Very fair points holysmoke, with which I completely agree. Seeing the boys 'freeze' against Sutton and then 'capitulate' against Dartford was disappointing
Having said that it's 'yesterdays news' and time to move on Jay Saunder's has set out his priority of getting the team into good shape for the play-offs He's right to do so, but there is a downside, inasmuch that the next 3 matches are not going to be enthralling viewing Good luck to you guys going down to Truro for 'a social' week-end But there will be a much more important matches to follow a couple of weeks later
Despite the forum 'meltdown' recently, the manager and team can be sure of 100% backing.

I don't think the team particularly froze against Sutton. They just came up against a team with better players who right up for it. We were not on our game right at the start and allowed them to get in the ascendancy, after that we clawed ourselves slowly back into the game. I have no clue about the Dartford game because I was not there.

Your comment about the Sutton match is of course subjective Reluctantly, I have to agree with your post about the Dartford game.

After losing to Sutton and the manager saying it's all about preparing for the playoffs; then fielding a B team at a derby game. Seeing the players making such little effort and such a low work rate. I feel cheated today. That was not entertaining. It's so disappointing to be ending the season like this. It underlines the fact that we are lucky to be sitting third in the table having score so little goals. I hope next season we can find a way of scoring a lot more goals and feeling like we can kill off sides. If we finish third next year having performed and dazzled along the way then we will at least feel a sense of entitlement heading into the playoffs/promotion. So I'll see you all in August, when I hope we'll be starting our second season strongly in the NLS, and not getting arse fucked in the NL. Maybe I'm overreacting but I was feeling pretty empty watching the game today. There's nothing to play for anymore - this team isn't going to do well if we go up, and if we stay in the NLS we'll feel crap having lost in the play offs. This is such a shitty way to be finishing the season. Very unhappy. Bye.
