Thank you fellow Stones fans. However, I am now even more confused. I feel encouraged to engage in debate, but do I have the grammatical and confrontational abilities required to fully participate? Perhaps there is a wiser 'oldie' member who can advise accordingly? You called? Ignore the idiots, tolerate the wise Alecs, dodge the occasional loonies. Otherwise, most posters are OK - as football fora go, this is a pretty good one.

I have not only heard Trottiscliffe residents refer to it as trottis-cliff, but I have even seen official signs where it is written as Trossley! The place is called Trottiscliffe. Trosley park is a park in Trottiscliffe. Strangely, this isn't an interesting story. Interesting or not, it is pronounced 'trozli'. Trosley Country Park is so-called because it was once part of the Trosley Towers Estate, not because it's anything (directly) to do with Trottiscliffe.

You forgot to capitalise the M at the start of his name. Whose name? My name.

My apologies; I'll try to remember next time.

When he asked for an 'oldie' I think he meant someone who stuck around for the wilderness years.
