Maybe some supporters want to aim higher? Having done the Ashford / Sittingbourne bit where there was no hope apart from keeping the club going what's wrong with wanting better? Errr? Isn't it better? We are challengers in a league where previuosly we were no hopers. We are not now in Sittingbourne or Ashford and have solid financial backing. Oh and aspirations to reach the football league. With respect to Sittingbourne for what they did Bourne Park was the arse end of the world, I'd suggest current surroundings are infinitely better and are set to improve further. Hardly a club or manager for that matter bereft of ambition. Of course things are better than those days, but we should be aiming higher than our achievement last season, and please nobody throw the Ryman Cup at me? Anyway what did you think of today's game Rob?

Nothing wrong with ambition. Isn't the issue not about ambition but more about timescales? What's the rush?? Ambition doesn't mean we're in a rush.

However I do feel we will see a far more consistent side than last season friendlies tell you so little as they are never as intense and rarely against those teams faced during the campaign. Looking forward to the kick off on Saturday.

Nothing wrong with ambition. No...I'm sure fans at Leeds and Portsmouth (to name two) would agree. I loved our ambition in the early 1990s Ambition isn't the same as mis-management.

Why are people taking this thread seriously? Its clearly a wind up by NWS and Heathside. All we're missing is something about Jack Parkinson and oldies vs Newbies. Agree ! These two posters ( amongst others) should come with a health warning . " This poster is is a wind up merchant. Don't take what is said seriously. If you do it may impact your well being! " Don't you just love it when jonnycomelatelys give you a character assasination. Still, the jealousy at my ability to promote debate, whether it be negative or positive, is noted. Just for note. I can be serious and wind up. The trouble is that there are so many bland posters that cannot decipher which is which

Given that the club was left in dire financial straits I would beg to differ, young Ant

You would beg to differ if someone posted that snow is white. Which would be just an irrelevant a conversation as many taking place on here lately.

Nice attempt at hiding. I will beg to differ when you are incorrect. If things were run properly at Portsmouth then there would not have been problems. They weren't i.e. mismanagement and so there were problems.

Not hiding at all. It is not relevant to the thread - nor to Maidstone United. I refer you to my post on the subject, for one so keen on detail I ask that you please pay notice to the bit that says "not getting into this one again".

I am keen enough on detail to know that if you were 'not getting into this one again' you would not have replied at all. Irregardless of that, I will stick to the fact that I have a right to reply if I think you are wrong. Obviously that cannot have happened because you were not getting into it again...well apart from stating something about it...er...hold on.
It was relevant to the thread at that point as it had started talking about clubs and ambition. As Maidstone United and the people on here are talking about that then it is relevant and relevant to Maidstone United.
