The thing is Ade, it's all about balance, yes they both scored a lot more than Micky, but they also won far fewer tackles, and that was what we lacked when Micky was injured. I like both Fabio and Rory and would have been happy to see them stay and fight for a place, but if they had more chance of regular first team football elsewhere you can't blame them for leaving. Rory would probably have been a regular starter if he hadn't been unlucky with injuries and illness. That's just the way it goes sometimes.

The poor lad never recovered from his tete-a-tete with an inebriated Trolley at Grays.

While your post would have validity in a wider debate my reply was to a comment about the number of goals scored by said players. I merely used Mickey Phillips to highlight something. You need to follow the whole thread. On the wider debate I thought Rory Hill was good enough. I was less convinced by Fabio

I wondered how you'd manage to find fault with it mate However your reference to Micky Phillips invited my response, so I would argue that my post is as valid as yours.

I found fault because there was fault.
Your replied to me about a point I was not making and had not made in the thread. As such your post did not carry validity in that particular piece of debate. I hope you are clear now.

I was well aware what you were replying to but you opened up the debate by using Micky Phillips to make the point about number of goals scored. I was merely expanding the theme by pointing out that that isn't the only relevant criterion. It's not reasonable to expect every participant to realise that you want to arbitrarily restrict the scope of the debate.

I haven't arbitrarily restriced any debate. I replied to a certain point and used a bit of a mickey-take (sorry for the pun) example to illustrate something. You then attempted to widen/change the debate (arbitrarily and with no indication of your intention to do so) but replied to me as though we were still in the same debate. It made little sense to talk about tackles when the criterion laid down at the start by payno (not arbitrarily by me) was goals. Your point, as I said, would have been valid in a wider or different debate but in the given context was as valid as saying who had eaten the most chips away at Lewes. You have now indicated that you wished to widen the debate although, I would argue that it is not really a widening but more of a changing of emphasis.

Whatever your opinion on the validity of my post, at least it still addressed the topic in hand unlike your subsequent pointless off-topic efforts.

It's not my opinion on the validity of your post it is fact about the validity of your post. I was forced to talk about something off-topic because you chose to debate that fact.

Will you two get a "chat" room? You seem to be interested in our chat and nothing else though. Would you like access to said chat room

He wasn't spot on though, IS. He was trying to hijack the thread and take it off topic
