Some of us just can't get enough football so we are going by choo choo to Folkestone for the play off final; getting the 11:03 from Maidstone east. If you want to join us, more the merrier... Few beers/archers/wkds and fish and Chips.... Why not?!

I would have driven, but the attendance for the semi-final was 950, suggesting limited parking, or arriving at silly o'clock. Don't arrive expecting a quick burger, think Three Bridges style!

In the end Leatherhead probably deserved to win this game, and I'm not sure how Folkestone would shape up to life in the Ryman Prem anyway with their various problems.
'Head started well with Tom Bradbrook dominant upfront and Jerry Nnamani really solid at the back. The Leatherhead first half goal was a neat looping header by Bradbrook.
Folkestone changed up a gear in the second half, Ter Horst moved to play more on the right and got much more change out of the Leatherhead defence. The Folkestone goal was scored by Paul Booth ( who else ) getting in front of his marker to head home a free kick.
The game moved through extra time to penalties, which Leatherhead won 3 - 1, despite the kicks being taken towards the massed ranks of Folkestone fans. Ian Draycott was the only Leatherhead player to miss, whilst Newman, Ter Horst & Luchford missed for Folkestone.
As always a tense occasion, but sad to see the Fullicks Stadium in a poor state of repair, with the main stand out of action due to weather damage.
