And let's face it, Elphick's going to Whitehawk Watch this space my epitaph will be "let's face it he's going to Whitehawk" if you have anything to do with it.

I wonder what the attendances for the big VCD - Tonbridge fixtures will be? Might top the 250 mark.

Interesting one this, and whilst it will be the first match everyone looks for when the fixtures are announced I don't want us to place too much importance on the games that we lose focus of the other 44 games we will be playing over the season.
I appreciate "local bragging rights are up for grabs" but I don't think we should treat it as any different to any other game.
The Angels are a "wounded" animal at the moment and the negativity coming out of that club is something else, I personally think this is a huge problem for them and as much as they have fans who try to inject an element of positivity into proceedings they are quickly batted down with more negativity.
Considering they have been relegated they actually beat Eastleigh home and away and if I was an Angels fan I'd question why a team who gets relegated can lift their game and beat the eventual champions but failed to do it for the other 40 games.
They have wasted, in my opinion, a lot of energy and focus on us and what we've been doing, and if they'd made as much noise supporting their own team rather than hating us then perhaps they wouldn't be in the position they are in.
Two years ago, they were two leagues above us, why they had any focus on us and our pitch, and our plastics and our budget etc etc is beyond me. Do you think Gillingham fans have paid much attention to Dartford?
The Angels only digs at us are to do with us apparently failing this season with a huge budget, and the vote against 3G......they seem to know alot about our budget but fail to recognise it wasn't the highest in the Ryman Prem.....as for 3G......that's up to them, it works for us, and it could work for them.....
Let them waste their energy on hating their ex players, 3G, us, everything really......as far as I'm concerned our games against them will be just 2 games out of 46, 6 points out of 138....my focus will be on Maidstone United Football Club...and getting behind players who want to wear our colours....simple as that.

Completely agree with ontheup, I'd hate for us to become obsessed with any other team, and I think there's a danger of this happening with Tonbridge.

Trigger - Did you apply for the managerial vacancy at the Mangels? I did, but then I was asked if I had had any experience with Mangles before. I thought this was the 21st century??

I don't think any Stones will get obsessed with them, its no more than a massive Pisstake. The boots on the other foot, except our boot is a thousand times bigger. They have used rubbish like MFI,Pub league ,even used gates and crowds whilst we played miles away from our home town. Thats all irrelevant now. Yes we have a massive budget compared to them,a tiny club on a downward spiral.
