Lewes deservedly won the game last night due to their endeavour and commitment on the night. We are an unquestionably better side than we showed last night. I am a big fan of Charley Robertson, but things did not go his way and perhaps Jay's previous use of him as an impact player coming on from the bench might have worked better than starting him from the outset. I do not think that it was lack of tactics which cost us last night, but the desire to win did not seem as strong as that of the Lewes team as a whole. We started brightly enough and, had we scored in those impressive opening minutes, we might have gone on to win comfortably. Sadly for us at the moment, we have great days in front of goal or off days, but little in between. The Lewes team attacked in droves and defended similarly. At times in the second half it appeared as if they had more men on the park than we had. We still have good performances to come and we have to make the most of the opportunities when they arrive. The return to fitness of key players is key to that, but it is silly to lay the blame for every bad performance at the door of Jay Saunders. He does not get the equal plaudits when we hammer sides, so things need to be put in perspective. The injury/loan situation is not always as easy to resolve as we would like, but some credit should be given to Jay for the recent signings of both Kayne Woolery and Elliott Cox, both of whom have strengthened the side since their introduction. We have bounced back before and we will do so again. Maybe we will hit our peak in time for the play-offs. Whatever your thoughts on the Jay's ability to motivate the side, no-one other than the players themselves can be criticised for lack of desire once you reach that stage of the season!

Next season we need to look at the history of the players we sign regarding their injuries. Clubs let players go for a reason, do players like Watt and Smith have a history?.. Its no good getting players that will miss more games than they play..

A fair synopsis of last night’s game Lucky1969, the pitch didn't help us much either, particularly in the first half where the wide areas resembled a boggy swamp; however I do understand it’s the same for both teams.
We seem to up our game when the opposition rattle us. Last night their number 6 seemed intent on inflicting bodily harm whenever the refs back was turned which spurred some of our players in physical action, all a little too late unfortunately.

We played well for first 15-20 minutes then faded rapidly. Not sure who was at fault for the goal. Their no.7 would not have looked out of place in the olympic diving pool (in my opinion). Parkinson played like a donkey with 2 legs tied together and lucky not to get a red. Worgs kept us in with a chance and the only choice for motm. Got a bit nippy and can't blame Jay for keeping his hands in his pockets - gotta keep the crown jewels defrosted!

Seen and heard a few people calling for players to go and Saunders to go. Its important to realise how far the club has come in the last few years. To take us up last year and be sitting in a play off place this year sounds good to me and i think everyone would have taken that two years ago. Yes we are struggling at the moment but no doubt our form will return.

Regarding the 'players wanting it more', why on earth would I boys want it if they are constantly critised. I know I'm no angel (Luke Rooney comes to mind) and I am not pointing the finger at ANYONE here, but has anyone considered the lack of passion may be due to the stick the players get week in week out?

Since starting to watch The Stones last season have always been impressed with Boothy, was sorry to see him go. Understand why, as he wanted regular games. Thought he wasn't given enough game time with us, he would be perfect to have right now.
