We have secured 2nd place and a place in the play offs. So lets get behind the lads for the final two games. 6 points and a slip up from Dulwich and the title can still be ours! I know that Dulwich have not got the hardest of games but isn't this the year where anyone can beat anyone and anyone can lose to anyone. Surely we have shown that this season and so have Dulwich to be honest.
At the moment I have been growing frustrated with comments such as 'we need to gain momentum for the play offs...'lets try and score as many as we can to get us set up for the play offs'. This is not a dig at Jay or anyone in particular but we are still in contention to potentially winning the title, surely that should be our focus instead of the play offs. Jay's interview after the game seemed very directed towards the play offs, does this mean that the squad has already resigned to losing the league and play offs already? Surely it should be
'lets play the best we can and get 6 points incase Dulwich slip and and if not we will be in good form for the play offs' rather than...
'i want us to put in performances and score as many goals to give us good form for the play offs' which IMO says thats we have given up on the league already.
Look at Roberto Mancini and Man. City. I remember when City were 12 points behind and bookies were paying out not once did we hear them say ok we will play well for second place, as long as the title is mathematically possible either club can win it. And look at it right away out of 4 games United have lost 2, drew 1 and only won 1.
Come on Maidstone, lets be positive, we know with this club anything is possible, lets forget the play offs for 2 games now and lets get behind the squad and management and we can still do it!! Yes its not in our hands but it is quite possible!!!
