Surely the boo's at the end were aimed at the officials? The performance of the team deserved nothing but applause.Stubbs was mom. The pull of Deren's shirt was as clear as day and how this was missed by the officials I will never know!!

its been a problem most of the season our forwards haven't scored enough goals..with the exception of booth early season.. lets face it do we even now know our best combination . But thats water under the bridge now and something that needs addressing in close season..Hythe are on a great run just been beaten by faversham , 2 really close games against folkstone and lost at home to leatherhead..play offs will be really tough

I agree that was best home performance for a long while especially when in a kent derby against play off rivals we dominated for 80% of the game i think the we weremt good enough is a bit harsh as i say for me was just one of those days when you dont get what the performance deserves. I think we can take much heart from that performance going in to the playoffs and id rather miss out on the league now than on the last day to have to go into the playoffs we now have time to get our heads round it

Evening all! Sheff Wednesday fan marooned here in Kent! Took my 7 year old daughter to watch you Stones today and although we stood behind the goal you kicked towards first half, rain and wind driving into her little face, she enjoyed herself! That game should have been wrapped up with the wind behind you first half, not sure why more shots weren't rained in on their keeper as you enjoyed the lion's share of possession. Your front men seemed to me a little "on edge", snatching at some good chances, continually leaning back for their shots. Recipe for disaster 2nd half and kicking into that wind! Thought your wide midfield players also looked good, and a sound defence as well, one centre-back particularly. Really thought that lad "Stubbsy" in the middle was excellent. A solid, creative player and definitely M.o.M. Your keeper, not the biggest 'keeper ever, is fantastic at getting down to the few shots Faverhsam did manage to get away (which were at least on target and were very well struck) and skimming off that wet astro-turf at pace - well to be honest they seemed to be trying that again and again (and it worked for their second). Surprised you Stones don't smack more shots in hard/low off that very fast pitch. Brilliant surface though. Thought that Hockton of Faverhsam had a hell of a shot on him. Genuinely unlucky that the match officials did not see their other striker (number 10) continually shirt pulling, and the way he nearly took your keeper's shirt off for their first goal was nothing short of a disgrace. Very poor and the ref did not even go over to have a word with the lino with 2,000 Stones fans protesting. For sure all the boos around us at the end (we moved to some spare seats in a stand for the second half!) were aimed directly at the ref/lino. The officials bottled it, and that took the wind out of your players with 20/25 or so minutes left for sure. A point was the least that was deserved but there was no stopping their second, was there? No keeper would have got that, hell of a shot struck with pace. We left soaked, freezing cold and witnessing (what I understand) was a rare Stones defeat. "Do you want to go again?" I asked my daughter at the end? "Yes please" was the response. a lot cheaper, much closer and arguably more enjoyable than a trip to Hillsborough. All the best for the last few games and see you around. Make sure you get behind your manager, you've got the best guy in the lower leagues for sure and a great setup down there. KentOwl.

I do think that when the playoffs come along our form at home will be better. For most of the season sides have come here content to frustrate and stop us playing. It has worked for a lot of sides. When sides try to play against us it doesn't generally work as we have witnessed a lot away from home and when Dulwich came to us. At the end of the season we will have beaten the winners of both Ryman North (Grays) & South (Dulwich) 5 nil as well as beating top sides from the divisions above.
In the play offs I think sides will have to come & try to play as it is effectively a cup match and I think this will suit us better - well I hope so anyway!

Jay needs to decide whats our best combination up front to much chopping and changing for my liking i think Ade and Draycott would have given us far more movement then Bouth and Welford today...

Very good point about sides having to play against us in a cup type match, although the negative side of me knows that the play offs rarely favour the higher placed team. We WILL be the best side in the play offs, lets hope that we can play the way I know we can.

Now that's what supporting Maidstone is about - not success but continuous frustration and disappointment!
Firstly, I think that Jay has improved dramatically as a manager in the last two years and we have won enough points this season to win the league in other seasons (when we last won it, we had 80 points). However, I do wish that he was a little more willing to take risks. In today's game, for example, having gone 1-0 down and knowing that a draw would not be enough, I don't know why we didn't go with three strikers and really go for it all guns blazing. Okay, so we might have lost more heavily, but we would at least have given it a go. Better to take the risk, in my opinion, than to carry on as we were.
I'd like to congratulate Dulwich on their almost certain league championship. To be honest, from what I've seen this season they thoroughly deserve it.

It is a funny ole game, that is a Faversham team who apparently gave Dulwich a run for their money and came away with no points and yet they gave very little today and took maximum points.
Unfortunately that has been the difference between us and Dulwich, Dulwich have a habit of scoring early goals and putting teams to the sword. We control games and put teams under pressure and fail to score. That allows teams to come back in to the game and punish us.
I wonder what faversham fans made of today and whether they think Dulwich are that much better than us. We played well today and I don't think there is too much doubting we deserved something from that, but it is going to be the play offs and on that evidence I think we have a good chance.
kentowl, a neutral clearly had very high thoughts of us, our team, our stadium and our support and for that we should be proud.

As much as the result today was a let down, we would hopefully be in a more positive frame of mind come the play offs, than if we had been pipped to the title on the final day. That could have seriously crushed our confidence and our chances of promotion. We know were the best team there, time to step up and prove it. Final point, only Faversham player not celebrating when they scored their winner, Aaron Lacey. His respect towards us knowing that the title had probably gone at that moment was appreciated.

Tbf I thought Faversham on the whole were extremely dignified with the celebrations. They knew it was a complete smash and grab, celebrated with their support then left. Complete contrast to the bovine bunch from sittingbourne with their winning the Champions League celebrations before goading our support.

I too noticed Aaron's lack of celebration on Faverham winner .A true Stones legend who we should always welcome back
