Good result for the Stones tonight, After Saturday's terrible referee we were served up with yet another ref who took great pleasure blowing up for any slight challenge a Maidstone player put in, anyway on to Saturday when we play Walton & Hersham...COYS

As shatty said, a wins a win....
pretty obvious that our 2 centre mids arent working together. game passed them by, and werent creative at all. Flisher seems to have let his early season form go to his head a bit. still not convinced about King at all, havent seen him do anything. Frustrating when we have decent strikers sitting on the bench, or even on the sidelines! seems to be picked to justify his now public transfer fee!
Steve Watt was immense! what a difference he wouldve made if we had him all season. our weakess position now looks rock solid! Encouraging to see him coaching and encouring the young lads around him, especially Kaine in the 2nd half.
Ref was a joke. envitable there was going to be a red somewhere along the line, just lucky it was for them. All of them stemmed from the fact he had absolutely no control of the game. During the melee he retreated to the half way line and let it carry on, and then still got it wrong. Game descended from there with a few wild tackles flying around.
Onwards and upwards...

Thought tonight's ref made Fissenden look like a genius. Easy to say in the heat of the moment but probably the worst refereeing performance I've ever seen. Have the FA brought in a new rule that teams wearing amber aren't allowed to tackle?
Not a classic performance by any means tonight, but could any team have done any better with the game stopping every 30 seconds for the egomaniac in the black to get his fix of attention.

A vital 3 points at home well done lads. It was good to see us passing on the deck and running with the ball instead of lumping it forward constantly. Referee was an absolute joke tonight though......

Tonight the Gallagher Stadium witnessed some of the worst supporters ever to have visited us.
As is my want, I like to stay at the Springfield end and in the second half they were just simply abusive with some of their comments - don't get me wrong, I love the banter and I love the chants..... but some of their comments to opposition supporters cannot be repeated on here and I would not want to anyway. They were not football related but simply gratuitous filth which could easily have incited others. This is such a shame because when we visited their ground earlier in the season they seemed to be a fine bunch of fellows and a football club with a super family following - just as it should be. Whitstable management, get it sorted for your own sakes! We love non league football for a reason.
So far as the match is concerned...... we deserved the result, we were not great, they showed nothing, many of their players were bullies and seeking to get our lads sent off. Their best player by a mile was the referee. He was clearly intent on making a name for himself, which he has now done. I suspect it will not however help him in his future development within the game.
I have to disagree with others above, I thought Stuart King had a good match....not quite there admittedly but his hold up play was good, his awareness was excellent and he tried to do things. We need that. We were never troubled at the back other than when the ref deemed to offer them another opportunity.
Man of the match by a mile - Steve Watt....wow what a player, just what we have needed - no nonsense centre back who does his job, no frills and encourages others around him. He also provides that advice to others, including our senior players - witness to whit and namely, the telling off he gave to Alex for going to ground in a tackle when he didn't need to which nearly led to a goal.
The signs are good and the future is yellow and black.....COYS
Off to bed now. Night night.

If the club officials sitting below me were anything to go by it doesn't suprise me at all. Very quick to spit their dummies out and throw the toys out of the pram.
Quality ref last night. I thought his performance in his field was outstanding. It's just a shame it wasn't in the same field as the others playing football.
With regards to Watt it's a shame he is only here on loan.

was stood in the same area as their group of supporters in the 1st half and apart from the usual banter between fans(a lot less abusive than some of our fans dish out regularly at home games) could not fault them.

only real bad point near enough are lowest league crowd of the season crowd voting with their feet after burgess hill?? looking around, it appears that attendances everywhere were low last night, tho' ours was still the 4th best non-league figure - like someone said, time of the month maybe and it's been so cold for so long now, I think people have had enough of going out - but I also reckon there's some truth in what you say about the Burgess Hill result / performance too Whitstable came to us last night after a 5-1 slapping at Cor. Casuals, one of the weakest sides I've seen us play this year, so I guess they were highly motivated to put in a better performance against us. That aside, I thought we scored a couple of well worked goals, the second one looked like it had been practised a few times in training, and it was good to see us playing it on the ground and down the wings, specially first half Thought Brown did well at right back, I guess Tommy Oz was just being rested (?). Watts was / is incredibly good for us, he just mops it all up and seems to spread confidence to Mills and Andrews Interesting to see Philips made captain last night, I thought he did it justice too, for sure, Shaun will be fresher for the next game after his rest on the bench Shame W&H couldnt do at Champions Hill last night what they did at the Gallagher first game of the season, but that was probably too much to expect, and again Dull Itch would have been smarting big time from their own reverse at the weekend We owe W&H a big one this Saturday after they pi$$ed on our opening parade, I for one am looking forward to it and reckon Jay will be looking to roll them over with style, and with Dull Itch down for a tough one at Ramsgitt, there's every chance of improving our position. Mind the gap! COYS!

A win is a win, so that's good The ref was appalling so I take on board Dave's comment about the game not being able to flow, but really that performance is just not good enough in my opinion We put it on the deck a bit more but we hoofed it far too much for my liking Disagree with giving Philips the captaincy, why would you want to your your lippiest, hot head player more license to get at a very poor ref, he nearly talked himself into a red imo. Cant help think the punters are voting with their feet, we need to address this quickly Anyway, on to Walton this Saturday lets hope for some entertainment, because Binsey fighting with Shaky over a penalty might just be the highlight of the year!

Thanks Seven. Was worried some of the lads may have stepped over a line like those pesky Leatherhead fans. If they did it may have been a reaction to the somewhat patronising tone of fans of a big club the majority of which have just discovered non-league football. Nice stadium and great crowd who will learn the etiquette of non-league. The ref blaming falls into that area of inexperience and watching too many Sky pundits. The reason you gave up so many free kicks was that your central mid field could neither hold the ball nor get it back. Sadly for us that is the only thing we could or can do currently. (got a spare goal scorer please?) It was a drag for us that the ref decided to placate the moaning players and 1000 newby fans with yellow cards. Anyway, lovely ground and really well organised. Your plan seems very well set out as Kingy apart you are not going out to buy success in the short term. You are guaranteed to rise steadily up and we will of course watch you with interest and occasional jealousy from below.
