Lloyd Hume.....
CB - Tick "Gobby" - big tick Not necessarily pacey - huge tick
I am embarrassed that he was our manager now.

Under andy ford, a good cb was released by the name of Tommy Parkinson, some said he was lazy and uninterested, but he was in the right place at the right time to destroy many opposition attacks. reminded me a lot of william gallas.

A pacey CB would be a bonus, but one that can organise the back four, and read the game well is more important at this level. I am sure Jay has been keeping his eyes open A fit again Nicky Humphrey would fill the void more than adequately, and would also chip in with the odd goal. After a shaky start he was immense until he got injured.

I am sure Jay has been keeping his eyes open OK I accept that, but don't overstate the idea of somebody who can "organise" as opposed to actually play with pace. We've seen a few organisers over the years, normally fat balding chaps in their 30's who just stand and point for others to run... A few slow midfield organisers we have flirted with - apologies if they are offended by their inclusion - Ian Docker ( the docmeister from Gillingham, good but oh so slow ), Bradley Sandeman ( come back in the KL days, sorry boss, no way ) + even Peter Hawkins. Pace wins at this level...................... ( + above ).

All this talk of wither getting a centre back who can organise or getting one with pace...how about a novel idea to end the debate...get a centre back with pace who can organise?

As a suggestion (I'm not sure if the management read this forum), it would probably be a good idea to check out Hastings United centre back Jono Richardson. He may be playing at a slightly higher level this year, but now works in Maidstone and lives there (or intends to if he doesn't already).
