I have had an update from John the safety officer stating that the club will be hiring two more SIA qualified Stewards and they will be situated at the South Stand (Town End) to assist the stewards in that area. Also the cleaning team have been asked not to put their hi vis on until the end of the game to avoid any confusion with supporters thinking they are stewards who are just standing around not doing anything. Hope this helps re-assure people a bit and shows that the club are proactive in sorting out problems.

Once the club increase the length of the town end terrace so there is plenty of room for all, would it be an idea to then have no standing between the pitch barriers and the terracing at both ends?

As the split infinitive became more common in the 19th century, some grammatical authorities sought to introduce a prescriptive rule against it. The construction is still the subject of disagreement among native English speakers as to whether it is grammatically correct or good style: "No other grammatical issue has so divided English speakers since the split infinitive was declared to be a solecism in the 19c [19th century]: raise the subject of English usage in any conversation today and it is sure to be mentioned".[1] However, most modern English usage guides have dropped the objection to the split infinitive.[2]

I could expound on my other favourite solecisms at Folkestone tomorrow - but no-one ever listens to me for some reason.

My thinking is it enables stewards to move more freely, to see incidents more clearly and may help stop my biggest gripe which is groups of teenagers spending the whole game leaning over the barriers behind the goal abusing the keeper (not banter, abuse).

And in addition blocking the view of the goal line for those in the stand. Teenagers are my biggest gripe too, but I suppose we have to have them....

At the Town End, I agree. It would also make it easier to get in and out if the walkway in front of the terrace was clear. However, I do not think that it's really necessary at the Springfield End, where there is much more space for stewards and fans to circulate in front of the terrace.
