The club has managed to sell event tickets on-line, so I see no reason why match tickets should be a problem. That takes care of people who can't get to the ground. Also, in the past the club has provided cards where you could collect a certain number of stamps. That could be done again, so for non-ST holders who attend regularly, there could still be preference on tickets.

Merstham once had a home gate of just 13! Typo. Was actually 135. That site is doing a vast job though - just worth double checking some of the stats.

We also erected temporary terracing at Dartford for the play off game against Cambridge Utd - I still haven't forgiven Dion Dublin!

Did Dion Dublin put up the terracing then? (Thought I'd save NWS from saying it)

I don't see the need for all ticket - if a game's going to be a sell out it'll be a sell out regardless of whether tickets are sold in advance or not. It just means getting in early as opposed to "queue up and hope a few days before the game", which is fairer on those who are at work at the time, or have to travel far

If I remember correctly, we only missed automatic promotion by 2 points. What a difference that could have made. Anyone else go to the Cambridge leg? Remember those bloody cages they had us penned up in - and kept us in well after the game finished? Madness.

Just me, plod and the tea lady!

You may say serves him right, but that is the kind of person we need to attract. The capacity will need to be increased if we are not to get badly caught out.

I can't rightly remember.

I'd forgotten about them. And I still can't clearly remember now. At the opposite end to the entrance, if I remember. Weren't they put up without permission or something? Can't remember what happened and whether we ever used them, but I've got a feeling we did - either eventually or before we found out they were 'illegal'.

i was at both legs of the cambridge play off game. we created a superb atmosphere away but i thought the atmosphere at dartford was very poor. if the away goals counted double as they do now we would have been at wembley. i also have never forgiven dublin

Would it have really made a difference? The real problem is we were a club without a ground or any money. At best it might have postponed the inevitable for a year, and it did feel inevitable.

A trip to Wembley and promotion to Division Three would have been better than staying in Division Four, even if the end result didn't change i.e bankruptcy.
