Same experience for me.
Not much chance of going there next season, either.

Actually it was our last Boxing Day fixture there, when I seem to recall Harry Wheeler was still in charge (just). We lost of course.
Boy, did Harry get some stick from Stones supporters that day!

Is Dover's pitch the worst at this level of football? Not only does it slope down and across, it is very uneven too. Add in the weather and that was quite an effort for us to win on Saturday. Maybe it was the camera angle on the highlights, but never realised it was that bad.

Maybe it was the camera angle on the highlights, but never realised it was that bad. They were supposed to have had it levelled about 10 years ago but I was never convinced. If the pitch was levelled then the stand at the bottom end has a significant slope of its own.

I thought it was a better awayday yesterday at Dover than the last few times I have visited although it might have helped that we won this time . The people on the away turnstiles were polite and the food seemed okay. I suspect some fans are put off by the steep hill to the ground!

And a whopping great big telephone mast behind the floodlights at the opposite end of the ground. Strange that. I joined the cash queue as card queue was quite long. I can only tell you what the kid behind the kiosk at the turnstiles said. I paid pin-code for our food, probably for same reason. As we all know- just because you hit your head on a phone-mast, it doesn't mean to say it broadcasting you service-providers coverage. All in all, our first visit to the Crabble was a good one, not just the 3 points, but the friendly chat we had with the Stewardess at the entrance, the lad in the kiosk apologising for the poor signal, the girls running the burger hut, the cleanliness of the toilets, the availability or somewhere to sit. The weather let the pitch down big time, as a months rain fell inside an hour- the hill is a climb, but were were warned. Maybe the rain was a contributing factor to broadband signal. I took a few snaps, but Im not a slave to the screen during a match. I'm glad they are getting their act together and making it a more pleasurable experience fir away fans but I'll only be tempted back once Parmenter leaves.
